‘Good grief, whose side are you on?’ Ilhan Omar calls US the ‘aggressors’ in face of Iran attacks

With Iran’s Revolutionary Guard s shooting down an unmanned U.S. military aircraft in international airspace over the Strait of Hormuz, Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., took to Twitter to accuse the United States of being the “aggressors” here.

But then, if this surprises you, you haven’t been paying attention to how much hate the freshman Democrat harbors in her heart.

Omar, one of the first two Muslin women elected to Congress in 2018, has already established a rich history of attacking Jews in her first six months in office, and the controversial lawmaker cited Iraq in claiming U.S. aggressors “are using illegitimate pretexts to beat the drums of war.”

“Just as in Iraq, aggressors are using illegitimate pretexts to beat the drums of war,” she tweeted. “Just as in Iraq, our media is taking these claims at face value. Just as in Iraq, children will die, American lives will be lost, and the world will be less safe. #NoWarWithIran

After ignoring Iran’s long history of aggression and demonizing her adopted country for being attacked, the Somali refugee then set her sight on President Donald Trump, suggesting he may be out to improve his poll numbers by countering the Iran attack —  never mind that Trump ran on getting out of drawn out wars in the Middle East.

Omar tweeted a pair of old tweets from Trump suggesting Barack Obama may do just that.

On Monday, Omar blames the “increasing tensions and threats of war” on President Trump pulling out of the disastrous Iran nuclear deal.

“None of this would be happening if Trump didn’t back out of the Iran nuclear deal,” she said in a tweet. “America’s response should be to return to the table and reinstate the Iran nuclear deal.”

As if a first-term congresswoman who has been in office 6 months is an authority on what is best for the U.S. when it comes to foreign policy and dealing with the world’s leading state sponsor of terrorism.

So intent was Omar in dissuading any possibility of retaliating against Iran, she then posted a series of tweets appealing to the president’s rational side, in case smearing him doesn’t have the intended effect.

This coming just before reports that Trump ordered a military strike, but aborted it at the last minute.

Here’s a sampling of reactions from Twitter, beginning with Piers Morgan, who asked of Omar, “Good grief, whose side are you on?”
