CNN political analyst April Ryan squealed in glee Thursday after her longtime arch-nemesis, outgoing White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders, announced that she’ll be resigning from her post at the end of the month.
“She did the right thing,” Ryan enthusiastically said Thursday evening on CNN’s “Erin Burnett OutFront.” “She should have done the right thing a long time ago. The reason why I say that is because she suffers from lie-abetes, and her tenure has been fraught with sex, lies and videotape.”
Listen to her factually inaccurate diatribe below:
She continued by delivering a lengthy diatribe falsely accusing the White House press secretary of lying about a number of matters, from the infamous “Access Hollywood” tape to what happened on Nov 7, 2018, when chief White House correspondent Jim Acosta refused to give up his microphone during a press conference held by President Donald Trump.
“From the moment she stepped into that position, there were lies from that podium from her mouth about the videotape ‘grab by the p-word’ with the Tic Tac,” Ryan said.
Sanders has never lied about the “Access Hollywood” tape.
“Then she has lied, lied, lied, lied. And then the video — that propaganda video that she put out about our own Jim Acosta saying, you know, he hit someone when he indeed didn’t — to take his badge from him. And he ultimately got it back after a court ruling and a big fight.”
That remark itself was a blatant lie. Sanders never shared a propaganda video. After Acosta inappropriately touched a White House intern as she tried to retrieve the microphone from him during the aforementioned presser, Sanders shared video footage of the altercation to Twitter.
To better highlight Acosta’s behavior, however, the footage had been slowed down slightly:
We stand by our decision to revoke this individual’s hard pass. We will not tolerate the inappropriate behavior clearly documented in this video. pic.twitter.com/T8X1Ng912y
— Sarah Sanders (@PressSec) November 8, 2018
Members of the left responded by accusing her of sharing a doctored video. To this day, no evidence has surfaced to confirm this veritable conspiracy theory.
For Ryan to rehash this lie is ironic given the propaganda that CNN routinely disseminates.
For instance, CNN chief media correspondent Brian Stelter frequently cites Media Matters as a source, despite it being a virulently far-left propaganda outfit that peddles outright lies and deceptions to enhance its pro-Democrat Party, anti-Republican Party narrative.
Following Sanders’ resignation Thursday, Stelter retweeted the following stunningly snide tweet from Paul Farhi of The Washington Post:
Just occurred to me that @Acosta will last longer in his job that @PressSec will last in hers. Not a comment; just a fact.
— Paul Farhi (@farhip) June 13, 2019
In his latest daily “Reliable Sources” newsletter, Stelter shared various opinions as facts.
Opinion: “Sander’s main legacy as press secretary will be the death of the daily press briefing. On her watch, we saw the end of a custom that had provided a level of government transparency and accountability for decades.”
Opinion: “Sanders had no credibility left. None. I mean, according to the Mueller report, she admitted under oath that she lied to the press corps about James Comey. Still, I’m not sensing a lot of confidence that the man or woman who takes her place will be candid and truthful.”
Sanders has claimed she simply misspoke about Comey. Both Ryan and Stelter have their own history of “misspeaking.”
And recall the panel of pure left-wing commentators and propagandists that CNN convened after Attorney General Bill Barr held a press conference about special counsel Robert Mueller’s report in April:
I’ve honestly never seen the type of media meltdown that I’m seeing on CNN. They are so emotionally invested in the storyline that they’ve been pushing for 2+ years and they know what Mueller did to it and how this will forever reflect on them.

CNN has 8 people talking about this & they all vehemently agree with one another on every last thing. This has been a major part of the problem from the start. All humans are more likely to err or worse if they are insulated from challenge or dissent. It’s inherently corrupting: pic.twitter.com/6U5aZqzgPn

I’m almost feeling sorry for the CNN panel. They are really hurt and are not even hiding it. Just live up to what you’ve done.

Dovetailing back to April, her unsurprising lack of grace and dignity stands in stark contrast to the grace and dignity that Sanders has been kind enough to afford to her.
Remember #PieGate? Back in 2017 Ryan questioned Sanders’ claim that she bakes her own home-made pies for Thanksgiving. This spawned a feud that continued up until the White House press secretary resolved it by graciously baking Ryan and her colleagues their own pies:
Those Americans perturbed by Ryan’s lack of grace toward Sanders’ resignation made sure to take to social media to let her know how they feel.
Look:
@AprilDRyan, you are incredibly rude, and @PressSec definitely handled your constant interruptions and grandstanding with more grace than most of us ever could. https://t.co/WRVpinpzL6
