Acosta accuses Hannity and Tucker of ‘fauxmacho man bulls**t’ as brutal barbs spill on Twitter

CNN’s Jim Acosta took a shot at Fox News hosts Sean Hannity and Tucker Carlson over his new book which purports to out their “fauxmacho man bullsh*t.”

The CNN White House correspondent fired back at Hannity in a tweet over the Fox News host’s attacks this week, sharing a photo excerpt from his new book, “Enemy of the People: A Dangerous Time to Tell the Truth in America.”

“Hearing Sean Hannity is taking some shots at me over my book,” Acosta tweeted Friday. “Two things Sean… #1 I offered to come on your show and talk about the book and you guys declined. Sad! #2 you’re in the book. It was that time you had a chance to say something to my face but didn’t. Enjoy!”

Hannity had poked fun at Acosta this week after he had tweeted out a photos of himself at a book signing in Arlington, Virginia that sparked mockery over the absence of any customers.

Acosta has promoted his book exposing the “dangerous time” he thinks journalists are living in because of President Trump, tweeting multiple screenshots of pages of the book which has not garnered the most promising reviews.

National Public Radio’s Annalisa Quinn gave it a blistering review, accusing the reporter of using it “as an opportunity to relitigate his spats with the White House rather than to meaningfully interrogate the cultural shift that left huge numbers of people despising and fearing the press.”

Acosta claimed “the climate of fear” Trump created made journalists seem like they “weren’t really human” to Americans.

But his claims about Hannity and Carlson proved to be even more self-absorbed as Acosta alleged the Fox News hosts avoided him when they saw him in person even though they had spent months bashing his reporting on-air.

According to “The Enemy of the People;”

“Before long, we boarded the press buses for the main event, the Trump-Putin joint news conference. As I set foot on the bus, I immediately spotted two of my biggest critics: Tucker Carlson and Sean Hannity, Trump’s chief propagandists at Fox, were seated on the bus, too. And you know what? After all their attacks on me during their prime-time “state TV” programs, they didn’t say a word to me. You’d think they would have had something to say to my face, but their fauxmacho man bullsh*t, as it turns out, seems to stop at the doors at the Fox News headquarters.”

Acosta only set himself up for more mockery, and a stinging comeback from Hannity.

Calling out what he purported to be their “fauxmacho man bullsh*t” only served to get Acosta schooled again on Twitter.
