Irish bar debunks fake news that Don Jr. and Eric Trump skipped out on bill

Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump, the eldest sons of the president, were targeted by fake news after a recent bar crawl where they picked up the tabs of their fellow patrons.

A Saturday story from The Daily Beast was published with the headline “Eric and Donald Trump Jr. Still Have Not Paid Irish Bar Tab.”

While leftists made the story go viral and immediately used the headline to trash the Trump family some more, the whole thing was complete and utter nonsense.

Reporter Arthur Schwartz almost immediately jumped at The Daily Beast and the authenticity of their story.

“Why does @thedailybeast aggregate and promote lies? This is why no one trusts the media. Holding my breath waiting for an apology from the hacks at The Daily Beast,” he tweeted.

The story was that the Trump sons had popped into an Irish bar this week and bought a round for everyone in the establishment. While The Daily Beast says they did not pay their tab, the owner of the business had something very different to say.

“They were so lovely and down to earth and gave a great hello to everyone,” Igoe Inn Bar & Restaurant owner Caroline Kennedy told The Irish Mirror. “I said, ‘Come on lads, you have to come in and pull a drink,’ so they did.”

Kennedy said the boys did not carry cash, so they paid their tab later.

“I don’t think they carry cash. We were told it’d be all sorted later so there’s no problem,” Kennedy said.

The bar itself later released a public statement clarifying that the Trumps paid their tab “in full.” The statement also mentions being “misquoted.”

“We have just had the most fantastic week in Doonbeg with the visit of the Trump family,” the statement read. “I would like to clarify that The Igoe Inn was paid in full for the round of drinks that Eric & Don bought for our customers. We appreciate their business. We Do Not appreciate being misquoted.”

The Daily Beast responded with the same sort of half-apology that seems to be incredibly popular among leftists today.

“An item in our Cheat Sheet, quoting a local Irish paper, said that Eric and Donald Jr. Trump had not paid their bill at a local pub. In fact, a nearby Trump golf club did later reimburse the bar. The item has been updated, and we regret the error,” the company said in a public statement.

The story’s headline was even changed to something almost similarly negative about the Trumps.

The new headline reads: “Golf Course Pays Off Trump Sons’ Irish Bar Bill.”

Schwartz and others continued to go after The Daily Beast for their obvious mistreatment of the Trumps.

It’s been said many times before, but this is the exact reason people are so untrusting when it comes to the media. So many media outlets have their heels so deeply dug in against the Trumps that they are willing to believe any story dangled in front of their faces, true or not.
