Biden has a strange advisor: Alyssa Milano helped persuade him to flip-flop on support for Hyde Amendment

Joe Biden’s flip-flop on his support of the Hyde Amendment this week was based on a variety of talks with the former vice president’s advisors and one of those advisors happens to be actress Alyssa Milano.

After previously supporting a long-standing ban on using federal tax money to help pay for abortions, Biden switched his support on Thursday.

A Friday report from The Atlantic detailed the various conservations with advisors — as well as criticism from the far- left — that convinced Biden to so openly change his mind.

“Symone Sanders, one of Biden’s senior advisers, confronted him, she confirmed to me Thursday night, telling Biden that he was missing how his position disproportionately affected poorer women and women of color without easy access to abortion,” reads the story from The Atlantic.

The part that came next was the true shocker as it revealed the former vice president is taking advice these days from one of the stars of “Charmed.”

The story continued, “Alyssa Milano, the actress who’s become a major online presence on issues of women’s rights as well as a friend of the Biden team, spoke by phone Wednesday to Biden campaign manager Greg Schultz, telling him the candidate needed to change. More calls came in, more tough conversations.”

One would think Biden would have learned from his former colleagues Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton overusing celebrity influence in their politics, but some things just never change.

After coming under heavy fire for his continued support of the Hyde Amendment, Biden caved to pressure and gave one of the most pandering speeches a politician has given in a long while.

“We now see so many Republican governors denying health care to the millions of most poorest and most vulnerable Americans by refusing even Medicare expansion,” Biden said at an Atlanta Democrat Party fundraiser. “I can’t justify leaving millions of women without access to the care they need and the ability to exercise their constitutionally protected right. If I believe health care is a right, which I do, I can no longer support an amendment that makes that right dependent on someone’s zip code.”

Biden getting campaign advice from Milano should concern anyone. She has in recent years turned her attention primarily to being a voice for far-left extremists.

She previously tried to call for a “sex strike” to protest the increasing number of pro-life laws being passed in the United States.

“Our reproductive rights are being erased. Until women have legal control over our own bodies we just cannot risk pregnancy. JOIN ME by not having sex until we get bodily autonomy back. I’m calling for a #SexStrike. Pass it on,” she wrote on Twitter.

This is one of the people advising Biden on his 2020 campaign:

It partly makes sense Milano is advising Biden. Her support for him has been clear from the beginning. She even took to Twitter recently to defend Biden from numerous accusations of inappropriate touching.

In the midst of heavy criticism going Biden’s way, Milano tweeted to her more than three million followers that the former vice president is “a leader and a champion on fighting violence against women for many years.”
