Though it seems there are more and more Democrats pushing for the impeachment of President Donald Trump every single day, Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) has repeatedly pushed back against the idea. This has made the speaker of the house a growing controversial figure in her own party.
At a Saturday event in San Francisco organized by the California Democrat Party, Pelosi gave a speech that was at one point drowned out by Democrats screaming, “Impeach!”
Pelosi was speaking to the crowd about Congress’ response to the release of the Mueller report when hecklers silenced her for a few moments.
Just as Pelosi was talking about supposed instances of “obstruction of justice” by the president found in the Mueller report, individual voices began yelling, “Impeach!” Pelosi had to halt her speech when many more voices joined in and screamed the same thing.
You can check out video of the event and Pelosi being drowned out below:

In her speech, the congresswoman tried to congratulate Democrat voters for electing “a transformational class” lawmakers from California.
Along with the yelling, some attendees waved signs in support of impeachment. Some of the signs were from billionaire Tom Steyer’s group Need to Impeach. Those signs showed a peach with the president’s hairdo.
That said, the "IMPEACH" cries represent a minority in the room. Pelosi is, after all, the speaker again, thanks in part to huge CA wins; the "you guys are blowing it" sentiment is not widespread here.

Other signs being waved were in support of Medicare for All. Hecklers were reportedly shushed as they interrupted the congresswoman.

Though she did not advocate for impeachment during her speech, Pelosi said Democrats would continue their investigations into the president.
“In his report, special counsel Mueller warned us in the starkest terms that there was an attack on our election and an attack on our democracy,” Pelosi said. “Why won’t the president defend us from this attack?”
She continued, “What is the president covering up? We must investigate the president’s welcoming of the assault on our democracy.”
She even laughably claimed at one point that the investigations are not about “partisanship.”
“This isn’t about politics, it isn’t about partisanship, Democrats versus Republicans, no. It’s about patriotism, it’s about the sanctity of the constitution and it’s about the future of our nation. We will go where the facts lead us. We will insist on the truth. We will build an ironclad case to act,” she said.
Pelosi has done her best to satisfy the extreme wing of her party. She even appeared on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” on Thursday night where she almost exclusively tried to explain her position on not impeaching the president — and yes, Jimmy Kimmel’s show is supposed to be a comedy show. Welcome to 2019.
Pelosi explained to Kimmel that impeachment is difficult with a Republican-controlled Senate already vowing to reject any such actions. She also proposed the fantasy of prosecuting Trump once he leaves office.
“He [Trump] knows it’s not a good idea to be impeached, but the silver lining for him is then he believes he would be exonerated by the United States Senate, and there’s a school of thought that says if the Senate acquits you, why bring charges against him in the private sector when he’s no longer president?” she said.
