Glitches or censorship? Audio blackouts during Trump-bashing diatribes on ‘The View’ spark speculation

Could the anti-Trump ranting by the ladies of “The View” be too much even for the show’s producers?

The ABC daytime talk show experienced curiously timed technical issues just as co-hosts Whoopi Goldberg and later Joy Behar spouted off about President Trump during segments on Tuesday’s show.

The audio inexplicably cut out at separate times but during both women’s rants on the president.

Behar was attacking Trump for his criticism of former Vice President Joe Biden and his role in getting the 1994 crime bill passed, highlighting what she saw at the president’s attempt to court the black vote.

“He’s talking about black voters. Who did he ask? Did he ask white people or black people that I wonder?” Behar asked.

“Because black people know about Charlottesville and they know about him saying that – ” Behar was saying as the sound cut out for a few seconds.

“And all the racism, and all the stuff that he says. They know about it, I’m sure,” she continued as the audio returned.

Co-host Sunny Hostin picked up and spoke about how Biden “has to certainly address this because mass incarceration did become a bigger problem after this crime bill.”

Hostin went on to note the effects of that crime bill before concluding – without audio issues – that she didn’t like that Trump is “equating black voters with only crime.”

The possible censoring of Behar’s comments followed an earlier segment as Goldberg was blasting Trump on the nicknames he is using for some of the 2020 presidential candidates as she prepared to go to a commercial break. During her critical remarks, the audio dropped four different times, each lasting a few seconds before returning to Goldberg’s diatribe.

One video shot showed co-host Meghan McCain laughing through Goldberg’s rant.

The audio black-outs left many viewers wondering if there was a technical glitch during the segments or the lost sound was strategic censorship as each of the co-hosts unloaded on Trump. The questions about what happened popped up on Twitter but, so far, there were no answers.
