Tucker Carlson: Immigrants pummeled ‘the American Piñata’ and now the US is being plundered

Tucker Carlson warned that the U.S. immigration system is in “total collapse” as illegal aliens continue to “plunder” America in a crisis that could have been prevented.

The Fox News host addressed the issue during a monologue on “Tucker Carlson Tonight” Tuesday, kicking off by noting how migrants, who are being released into American cities were recently being dropped off at California bus stations because there is no longer any room at detention facilities.

Carlson argued that “functioning societies don’t operate like this,” and noted that nations that purport to care about their citizens actually take care of them by enforcing their own laws after playing a clip of Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand on the issue of detention centers.

“I wouldn’t — as President of the United States, I wouldn’t use the detention system at all,” the New York Democrat and 2020 presidential contender told CBS News host Margaret Brennan, adding that the hundreds of thousands of people illegally crossing the U.S. border “don’t need to be incarcerated.”

“Our leaders are decadent and narcissistic,” Carlson declared Tuesday on his show. They care only about themselves. They will never defend our nation. That’s obvious and the rest of the world knows it,”

“The American piñata has been getting pummeled for decades and now it has finally come apart. Our national wealth is up for grabs by whomever gets here first, and they are coming,” Carlson continued. “Over just the past year, one percent of the entire population of the nation of Guatemala has moved to the United States. A Wall Street Journal piece last month described the plight of that country’s villages. Some of them are literally depopulating as people stream north to America’s generous welfare state.”

The Federation for American Immigration Reform provided the Fox News show with a new study it conducted showing “the scale on which the United States is being plundered.”

“Every year, FAIR found foreign-born workers send about $150 billion in remittances to their friends and family overseas. That’s more than the GDP of 18 American states,” Carlson shared.

“Illegal aliens alone are emitting $28 billion a year. That’s $28 billion leaving this country, going abroad every year from people who don’t even have the legal right to work here in the first place,” he continued. “But they are, and they are benefiting, of course, from all the extras — free healthcare, free education, subsidized housing, food stamps, and who knows what else. The remittances are not taxed. In the case of illegal immigrants working under the table, their original earnings have never been taxed, either.”

While liberals continue to note that illegal immigrants are not eligible for most government benefits under the law, they continue to find ways to provide these same benefits to them, often at the expense of U.S. citizens. Carlson slammed “America’s failed immigration system” last week in remarks blasting Rep. Ilhan Omar as a symbol of that failure.

The Fox News host on Tuesday called the current immigration situation a “disaster,” but not one stemming from natural causes.

“We could have prevented it with a wall, a mandatory e-verify, remittance taxes and an efficient deportation process,” he suggested. “You could easily fix this crisis. It wouldn’t take much. It’s not fixed because Congress doesn’t want to fix it.”
