New Yorkers take to the street in protest of Ilhan Omar, skirt local officials to display incendiary billboard

Though it received zero attention from the mainstream American media, on Monday a large group of protesters hit the streets of New York City to rally against anti-Semitic Muslim Congresswoman Ilhan Omar and demand her immediate removal from the House Foreign Affairs Committee.

And according to Russian and Israeli news sources, the rally/protest was fairly big.

“A group asking for the removal of congressional [freshman] Ilhan Omar from the foreign affairs committee protested on New York’s Times Square on Monday,” i24, an Israeli news agency, reported.

“They called for the removal of the young Minnesotan politician, one of the first two Muslim women to be elected to the US legislature, following much-publicized allegations of anti-semitism and minimizing of the 9/11 terrorist attacks.”

Led by David Abadie, a former Israeli Defense Forces squad commander, the group also unveiled a billboard that featured an image of the Sept. 11 terror attack.

While the group had hoped to display the billboard on an actual billboard, its request was denied by local officials, so instead the group displayed the billboard on a moving truck.

While the focus of the rally was primarily Omar, some of the speakers also referenced her fellow Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib, whose own anti-Semitism has gradually increased by the month.

“Omar perpetuates the same anti-Semitic memes and propaganda that Hitler used to get Germans and other Europeans to exterminate Europe’s Jews,” an unnamed speaker said at the event Monday. “Tlaib and Omar are intentionally mainstreaming anti-Semitic memes just as Hitler did in the lead-up to World War II through the promulgation of the protocols of the Elders of Zion.”

These “Protocols” were a fabricated document that described an alleged Jewish plot for world domination. Despite being exposed as a hoax as early as 1921, Nazi dictator Adolf Hitler used it as propaganda against the Jewish people after he came to power.

Speakers at Monday’s protest also highlighted Omar’s stunning lack of gratitude. During an appearance last December on “Pod Save America,” she complained about the allegedly unjust and deplorable conditions she encountered when she immigrated to the states as a refugee in the 1990s.

She said that during the refugee orientation process, she was shown a video that depicted “happy families, and dinner tables where there is an abundance of food, images of happy young children running off to their school buses … images of a country where people are happy and leading a life that is prosperous.”

But when her family arrived in the states, she discovered that, much like every other country on Earth, America has its own fair share of homeless, particularly in big metropolitans. And that discovery, according to her, means that America is apparently a hellhole.

“I saw panhandlers on the side of the streets, there being trash everywhere, and graffiti on the side of the walls,” she complained. “I remember turning to my father and saying, ‘Well, this doesn’t look like the America you promised!”

Dovetailing back to the protest Monday, one of the only American media entities to cover it was Getty Images, which provides professional stock photos to actual news organizations.

But as dutifully noted by investigative reporter Ryan Saavedra of The Daily Wire, Getty appeared to only snap photos of the relatively few counter-protesters who showed up at the event.

Getty chose to focus almost solely on the counter-protest versus the actual protest. In fairness to the media organization, at least it covered the event. Not a single mainstream media outlet, including Fox News, ran a report on the protest. It’s unclear why they chose to ignore it.

It should be noted as well that the desire to see Omar ousted from the Foreign Affairs Committee isn’t some fringe belief. Even Vice President Mike Pence has expressed the same sentiment.

“Ilhan Omar has made statements, anti-Semitic comments against our most cherished ally, Israel, that ought to be rejected by every American,” he said in a Fox News interview two weeks ago.

“And frankly the fact that very recently, she’s been trying to blame the United States of America for the deprivation and the poverty brought on by the dictatorship in Venezuela tells me … Congresswoman Ilhan Omar has no place on the House Foreign Affairs Committee and the Democratic leadership ought to remove her.”

Listen:

Congressional Democrat leaders have thus far shown no interest in cracking down on either Omar or Tlaib for their rampant, unrepentant anti-Semitism. If anything, leaders like House Speaker Nancy Pelosi appear to have chosen to award their bigotry.

Just last week she allowed Tlaib to preside over the House floor:

This happened only days after the congresswoman distorted the history of the Holocaust by falsely claiming the Palestinian people had helped create “a safe haven for the Jews.” To make matters worse, she admitted that this fake history gives her a “calming feeling” …
