Facebook drew backlash so intense after it suspended Blexit founder Candace Owens late last week that the social media company eventually wound up backtracking and reinstating her account.
The suspension came to light early Friday morning, when Owens took to Twitter to announce that her FB account had been suspended for seven days “for posting that white supremacy is not a threat to black America, as much as father absence and & liberal policies that incentivize it, are.”
Look:
Dear @realDonaldTrump,
My @facebook page has been suspended for 7 days for posting that white supremacy is not a threat to black America, as much as father absence and & liberal policies that incentivize it, are.
I am censored for posting the poverty rates in fatherless homes. pic.twitter.com/Yh9DSW6DPk

Facebook has allowed every post that has falsely and horribly accused @realDonaldTrump of white supremacy to remain on its platform.
But when a black woman begins discussing the TRUTH—which is that liberal policies have systematically ruined black homes—they censor.
Unfair!

Wherever liberal policies reign supreme, Black America is under threat.
Abortion, Illegal immigration, welfare traps which encourage father absence—these are progressive policies that lead to regressive results for my community.@facebook is fearful that black ppl r waking up. pic.twitter.com/sY4uQQlH7D

The backlash poured in swiftly, with conservatives accusing FB for picking on a black woman who’d merely been sharing facts in support of her thesis that “liberal policies have systematically ruined black homes,” while simultaneously allowing practitioners of actual hatred to keep their accounts.
“@facebook Are you really censoring Candace Owens,” one user wrote on the competing social media network Twitter. “Is this really the message you want to send? I have seen antisemitic posts, hateful posts calling for Trump to die, posts calling all conservatives racist, and non of that was censored.”

Of course! An intelligent, articulate black woman suspended for her conservative views.

Imagine that! A white liberal owned and run company actively suppressing the voice of a black woman because they disagree with what she’s saying. Liberals have yet to mentally leave the ‘50’s!

Black woman is silenced by @Facebook for speaking about the black community.
The true face of the ‘progressive’ left today. https://t.co/XCr9nWPlDL

Sooooo anyone who calls conservatives a white supremacist without proof is ok but let a black woman say something truthful and she is banned. You suck @facebook https://t.co/Pw09kF5i5W

Not a fan. At all. But a black woman addressing fatherlessness and poverty in black families is ‘against @facebook community standards’?
This is why big tech should be regulated. In order to restrict this kind of censorship, that is. https://t.co/nkkPwL6SbX

The backlash grew further still after Breitbart ran a bombshell report Friday afternoon revealing via an insider source that Facebook maintains a spreadsheet of so-called “hate agents.”
“The source claimed that the spreadsheet includes the names of prominent right-wing and alternative media figures who were recently banned from the platform,” Breitbart reported. “Candace Owens is also included in the spreadsheet, in a separate category marked ‘extra credit.'”
The “extra credit” tag is reportedly used for “hate agents” who are still under investigation for alleged “hate speech” and haven’t been permanently banned yet, though a full ban is the eventual goal.
By 11:00 am Friday afternoon, Owens’ account was finally restored, though her exasperation remained. So did the anger brewing among social media critics by what they feel is the tech community’s political bias. In the past year, an increasing number of individuals — some of them even left-wing — have been censored on social media for writing things that, while truthful, were allegedly offensive.
“@facebook has restored my page!” Owens tweeted Friday afternoon. “While I am grateful that I have a large enough platform to make noise and force reconsideration— what about the millions of people who do not? What about the millions of conservatives who are forever silenced on social media?”

Exactly! What about the rest of us that deal with their crap on a daily basis!

Facebook is on a rampage to silence conservative voices. They believe that no one can stop their ideological censorship.

Millions of us don’t get a second thought and nobody to listen to an explanation, rebuttal, or voice. They have 100% controll and us ‘nobodys’ are doomed for nothing in many cases!

The fact that giant corporations, like @facebook run by 2 or 3 individuals or @Jack at @Twitter have managed to control so much of the world’s freedom of thought is disturbing. Suppression using algorithms to shut down any voice not liberal is George Orwellian. #Facebook #Twitter

“Typically when they censor conservatives, they mask it behind white supremacy and their commitment to ending it,” she added in a statement to Fox News. “Their expectation is that masses will believe that excuse without digging further. Censoring me paints a different story, however-as no one with a modicum of intelligence would be so quick as to accept that narrative.”
The truth, which most conservatives know and many fair-minded liberals are waking up to, is that social media companies are attempting to meddle in the 2020 election by silencing and de-platforming certain individuals.”
Last week the White House launched a new tool to help victims of online censorship.
“SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORMS should advance FREEDOM OF SPEECH,” the tool’s welcome page reads. “Yet too many Americans have seen their accounts suspended, banned, or fraudulently reported for unclear ‘violations’ of user policies.”
“No matter your views, if you suspect political bias caused such an action to be taken against you, share your story with President Trump.”
The Trump Administration is fighting for free speech online.

It’s unclear whether Owens plans to use this tool to report what happened to her.
