‘This is a lie’: AOC digs deeper after being thoroughly schooled on incendiary abortion claim and ‘jail’ time

Democrat Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez embarrassed herself once again after being caught spouting a blatant lie in a bid to foment opposition to the new Alabama abortion ban. For the record, the restrictive pro-life legislation was signed into law by a female governor, Kay Ivey.

In a ridiculous tweet, AOC falsely claimed that women who get abortions under the new Alabama law would be jailed. That is 100% false.

It is the abortion providers that would face criminal sanctions. Under NO circumstance would mothers who abort their babies be prosecuted.

Earth to AOC: Women who get abortions won’t be prosecuted

Ocasio-Cortez puffed on Twitter: “Alabama lawmakers are making all abortions a felony punishable with jail time, including women victimized by rape and incest. Of course, no added punishments for rapists. It’s going to Governor Kay Ivey’s desk. She will decide the future of women’s rights in Alabama.”

First of all, rape is already against the law, so rapists do get punished.

And if a rapist murders a pregnant woman’s baby, he would be prosecuted for rape. He would also be prosecuted for murder of the unborn baby in 38 states.

So what the hell is AOC talking about?

‘Tell the truth, AOC’

One America News reporter Liz Wheeler immediately schooled the former bartender on Twitter.

Wheeler clapped back: “This is a lie. Under no circumstances would women be jailed for abortions. The abortionist would be penalized. Tell the truth, AOC. You’re trying to scare women into supporting abortion.”

An embarrassed AOC responded with a lame comeback that did not address her original lie. She pivoted by accusing Liz Wheeler of not supporting “victims of rape and incest. 👍🏽 good job.”

AOC is a ‘lawmaker’ who doesn’t understand laws

Realizing that Ocasio Cortez is too obtuse to understand that the law would not criminalize women who get abortions, Wheeler underscored:

“It’d never be a felony for women. Period. It’s despicable to use victims of child rape as justification for 1 million abortions every year…because you Dems aren’t seeking exemption for rape/incest. You want all abortion legal always.”

AOC then totally humiliated herself with an awkward pivot because she refused to acknowledge she was wrong in her interpretation of the Alabama abortion law.

Keep in mind that AOC is a “lawmaker” who doesn’t understand how to read laws. This means that we Americans are in deep trouble with clueless people like AOC in Congress.

Ocasio Cortez tweeted: “Actually it *would* be a felony for women – if those women are medical providers. See? According to your own semantic standard, you “lied.” We can fact-check obvious semantics all day and make absurd bad faith claims if that’s how you want be. But I have better uses for my time.”

For the record, Section 5 of Alabama’s Human Life Protection Act clearly states:

“No woman upon whom an abortion is performed or attempted to be performed shall be criminally or civilly liable. Furthermore, no physician confirming the serious health risk to the child’s mother shall be criminally or civilly liable for those actions.”

Ocasio-Cortez pivots: Abortion debate is about ‘women’s sexuality’

Hours later, because AOC felt like a moron after being called out for her abortion lie, she pivoted and claimed the abortion debate is about “women’s sexuality.” Um, okay.

We saw how well that conflation argument worked out for actress Alyssa Milano.

Tax-evading socialist Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has become the de facto leader of the flailing Democratic Party. Thanks for making Trump’s 2020 re-election a shoe-in, AOC!
