Democrat Rep. Rashida Tlaib on “Late Night with Seth Meyers”

Once again, freshman leftist Congesswoman Rashida Tlaib has stepped in it, making remarks that have offended people of sound mind around the globe. Not only that, she has continued to make matters worse by calling those she has offended “racist idiots” … as a guest on Seth Meyers’ program last night.

Tlaib made the original offensive comment during her Saturday appearance on Yahoo News’ “Skullduggery” podcast …

There’s always kind of a calming feeling I tell folks when I think of the Holocaust, and the tragedy of the Holocaust, and the fact that it was my ancestors, Palestinians — who lost their land, and some lost their lives their livelihood, their human dignity, their existence in many ways — have been wiped out, and some people’s passports. And just all of it was in the name of trying to create a safe haven for Jews, post-the Holocaust, post-the tragedy and the horrific persecution of Jews across the world at that time. I love the fact that it was my ancestors that provided that, right? In many ways. But they did it in a way that took their human dignity away and it was forced on them.

In a nutshell, critics say that her comments, historically speaking, are completely inaccurate … and then there’s that reference to thinking about the Holocaust having a calming effect. What the heck does that mean? Six million people die and that calms her?

Democrats try to defend her and her anti-semitism again

On Monday, Democrat Steny Hoyer, House majority leader, incredibly claimed Tlaib is owed an apology after Republicans criticized her for those comments. “If you read Rep. Tlaib’s comments, it is clear that President Trump and Congressional Republicans are taking them out of context,” he said, as reported by The Hill. “They must stop, and they owe her an apology.”

Speaker Nancy Pelosi reiterated the same when she tweeted …

Many have pointed out that Muhammad Amin al-Husayni, the Palestinian Grand Mufti during World War II, was friendly with Adolf Hitler and helped spread anti-Semitic propaganda leading up to the Holocaust.

President Trump tweeted …

Sen. Ted Cruz, appearing on Hannity Monday said: “The Democratic Party as a whole is galloping to the left. And one of the components of that is the extreme left has a long history of anti-Semitism of anti-Israel hatred. We’re seeing it with this freshman trio, these three freshman house members who keep expressing anti-semitic, anti-Israel comments.

“Whether it’s congresswoman Tlaib’s comments about the Holocaust, which are just… they’re horrifying, or whether it’s Congresswoman Omar’s tweet attacking Israel, saying ‘it’s all about the Benjamins.’ It’s repeating anti-Semitic attacks,” said Cruz.

“Policing my words, twisting & turning them to ignite vile attacks on me will not work,” Tlaib tweeted Sunday night. “All of you who are trying to silence me will fail miserably. I will never allow you to take my words out of context to push your racist and hateful agenda. The truth will always win.”

Tlaib: Talk like a fourth grader so racist idiots would understand

Last night, Tlaib was a guest on “Late Night with Seth Meyers,” when she managed to rile up her opponents even more. Responding to the tempest she has stirred up, she said, ” … you know, for me, I wanted to uplift that and bring that to light … And it was unfortunate you know, I got a text message from a friend who’s like, ‘Hey, next time, you know, really clarify. Maybe talk like a fourth grader. Because maybe the racist idiots would understand you better.'”

That and other twisted comments actually drew applause from the audience. Do they take home prizes if they respond accordingly to the “applaud signs?” Watch for yourself …

CNN: Tlaib “cannot rewrite history”

Even CNN has come out and, in historical context, indicated that Tlaib’s comments are wrong. Speaking with the network’s global affairs analyst Aaron David Miller on Monday, reporter John King pointed out that Tlaib “cannot rewrite history.”

“Now, calming is at best an awkward word choice in any sentence referencing the Holocaust and one readily made for Republican critics, including the president of the United States,” said King. He added that Tlaib “also fails a critical fact and context test.”

“Yes, as she said, Palestinians lost land in the creation of Israel, but she ignored the fact that Palestinian leaders at the time allied themselves with Hitler and that total war is how the Arab world reacted to the declaration of Israeli independence.”

King asked Miller, “… in the sense that she can’t rewrite that history and you can’t project revisionist history, so why?”

Miller fact-checked Tlaib’s position … the one that she says calms her. “She also has her history wrong, I mean, on two points,” said Miller. “Number one, it’s an arguable proposition even had there been no Holocaust. Most of the institutions of the current state of Israel were in place before Hitler started killing Jews. So the Holocaust added urgency and international support, but I suspect with or without it the state of Israel would have come into being.”

“On this notion that Palestinians either negatively or positively helped to create a safe haven for Jews,” Miller continued. “… the reality is that the Arabs in Palestine, Haj Amin el-Husseini, the grand mufti, in Nazi Germany, collaborating and cooperating with the Nazis about what would happen if Rommel’s Korps had been successful in Egypt and been present in Palestine … they were considering extermination of the entire Jewish community there as well.”

“So this was ill-timed, ill-advised, and I think clearly is simply going to antagonize and polarize the already polarized debate in Washington,” concluded Miller.
