Mueller report discussion between Chris Christie and MSNBC host turns nasty: ‘get out of town with that.’

A discussion between Chris Christie and MSNBC host Stephanie Ruhle got heated on Wednesday when the subject of the Mueller report came up.

During a panel at the SALT conference in Las Vegas, Ruhle brought up the fact that President Donald Trump has referred to the Mueller investigation as a “treasonous hoax” in the past. She then listed potential business deals between the president and Russia, as well as his campaign’s “eagerness” to get help from Russia as reasons why the investigation was not a hoax or a waste of the two-plus years that went into it.

Christie responded by saying that the president “says many things” he disagrees with, but he expects the harsh wording from the man at this point.

“I don’t understand why people are surprised by any of this. I’ve known Donald Trump for 17 years. He is no different today than the day I met him in May 2002,” Christie said. “This is the way he speaks, this is the way he acts, and by the way, this was the way he spoke and acted during the campaign.”

“So you’re saying he’s a liar, a bully, you get what you get, you don’t get upset?” Ruhle replied.

“You used those adjectives, I did not,” Christie shot back. “You asked, ‘treasonous hoax,’ he uses these words- he’s a salesman. He is at core a salesman who uses hyperbole to try to convince people of his position.”

“Sir, those are lies,” responded Ruhle.

“That’s what you say, Stephanie,” Christie fired back. “That’s his opinion and an opinion can’t be a lie.”

At one point Ruhle tried to talk down to Christie by saying, “sir, the word ‘hoax’ is not an adjective. It’s a noun.”

Christie responded, “Ya, I understand. You know, I took English too, Stephanie. I understand. I know what the word is. You don’t have to educate me on that.”

It only got even more heated from there. Christie later brought up former acting FBI Director Andrew McCabe and said he is a “proven liar” — an Inspector General’s report found McCabe was leaking information and being misleading about it when asked by investigators.

“How come Andy McCabe can be a proven liar and President Trump could be a great salesman?” Ruhle asked.

Christie responded by saying she had made an “interesting MSNBC point.”

“No! Get out of town with that. Seriously, seriously,” Ruhle said, clearly triggered by Christie’s joke.

Christie then defended seeing a difference in the behavior of McCabe and Trump as both are held to “two different standards,” one from the Department of Justice and the other from the American people.

Christie also said while on the stage that he disagreed with the president criticizing Mueller during the investigation.

Ruhle is unfortunately yet another liberal who refuses to accept the results of the Mueller report. Like many other Trump critics, she would also rather criticize the president on style over substance. If she were to argue substance, there would be very little she could say.
