Rep. Steve Cohen did not bring any chicken to Wednesday’s House Judiciary Committee meeting, but he still unloaded in a rambling rant slamming President Trump and Republicans.

The Tennessee Democrat spoke to his colleagues during Wednesday’s hearing to hold Attorney General William Barr in contempt for refusing to comply with a subpoena by House Judiciary Committee chairman Jerry Nadler, D-N.Y.

Cohen almost struggled to get his words out from the anger overcoming him about the president as he spewed slanderous accusations against him, escalating his rhetoric to one point when he declared Trump should be in the prison.

“Somebody said we’re afraid,” the Democrat lawmaker who infamously chowed down on fried chicken during a Committee hearing last week to mock Barr who refused to appear.

“Yes, we’re afraid. We’re afraid of the loss of the rule of law. We’re afraid of the loss of the power of Congress to be an independent and co-equal branch of government,” Cohen went on. “And we face that today if we don’t stand up.”

“Somebody else said that Russia – there are no connections and nothing with Russian collusion.,” he said.

“Well the Mueller report said there was systematic and sweeping efforts by the Russians to influence our elections and they were done so to help Trump,” he argued, referring to special counsel Robert Mueller’s report on alleged Russian collusion in the 2016 election campaign.

Cohen argued that the Mueller report showed “lots of contacts” between Russians and the Trump campaign, but not enough evidence to prove collusion.

“There’s a big difference between not having connections and guilt beyond a reasonable doubt,” Cohen said, continuing his rant in disrespectful mockery of the president.

He slammed Trump who “did not even mention” the allegations of interference with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

“That is scary!” Cohen exclaimed.

“We are afraid of interference in the 2020 elections and we need to be,” he said. “And we need to be because we’ve got a man who has been suggested might be financially dependent on the Russians.”

The Democrat’s meltdown continued as he railed on about Trump being “dependent” on Russia because in the 1980s and 1990s the real estate mogul was “broke.”

“If it weren’t for him being president, he’d be in prison with Michael Cohen today,” Cohen shouted.

He obstructed justice as the Mueller report says. We are in danger! We need to respond! and we need to act for the people of the United States of America,” he concluded.

The Democrat’s political theater instantly earned him a scathing round of mockery on social media.
