Biden says he’s most proud ‘not one single whisper of a scandal’ in Obama admin. Really?

Former Vice President Joe Biden got an easy platform to pat himself on the back in his first interview since launching his third presidential campaign.

The Democratic presidential contender made the amazing claim while on “The View” Friday that the Obama administration had “not one single whisper of scandal,” to the fawning approval of the liberal hosts.

He boasted about his close relationship with former President Obama, and the eight years he served as his vice president, giving co-host Behar a long-winded answer as to why he reportedly asked Obama not to endorse him.

“We not only served together, our families are close. We became very close personal friends,” the 76-year-old Democrat said.

“He’s a man of great honor and discipline. He and my wife and Michelle are close friends. They went over to see each other the other day,” he added. “I didn’t want it to look like he was putting his thumb on the scale here and, that you know, I’m going to do this based on who I am, not by the president going out and trying to say this is the guy you should be with. Um, so that’s why I asked him not to. I’m very — I’m incredibly proud to have served with him.”

He went on to tout what he was “most proud of” in the administration he served under, making the ridiculous statement about a scandal-free eight years.

“The thing I’m proudest of is we were each in a different part of the country and we were each talking to groups of people that were being televised. Purely coincidentally, we said the same thing.,” he recounted. “We were asked what are you proudest of from your administration? You know what I said — he said the same thing and probably a little more clearly than I did: Not one single whisper of scandal.”

“Not one!” Behar gushed.

“Not one single whisper!” Biden repeated as the audience burst into applause. “That’s Barack Obama! That’s because of Barack!”

“I know! He’s amazing!” Behar agreed.

None of the show’s hosts pushed back on the false claim and no one mentioned the contentious episode earlier this month when co-host Meghan McCain was berated on air in a fiery dispute with Behar and Sunny Hostin as she insisted they were wrong in claiming the Obama administration was scandal-free.

Either Biden has a bad memory or a very different definition of what a scandal is. And given his own recent experience with accusations of inappropriate touching and other unwanted contacts, his lack of self-awareness is almost alarming.

Besides his own gaffe that uncovered how he strong-armed the Ukrainian government about $1 billion in loan guarantees, Biden served right alongside his beloved Obama as that administration faced multiple controversies and scandals that were conveniently ignored by the mainstream media.

Going back to 2013, the administration came under fire when it was revealed that the IRS had targeted Tea Party groups and in 2014, another scandal erupted as it became known that dozens of military veterans had died while waiting for treatment at veterans’ facilities.

There was, of course, the well-known 2009 controversy when the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives launched “Operation Fast and Furious,” eventually losing track of firearms sold in the effort to uncover  Mexican drug cartels. One of the weapons was used to kill U.S. Border Patrol agent Brian Terry in 2010, ultimately leading to a contempt charge against then-Attorney General Eric Holder.

While many may not classify it as exactly a scandal, the passage and ultimate failure of Obamacare certainly won’t go down in the books as an Obama administration accomplishment to be proud of. And of course, the infamous Benghazi scandal following the September 2012 attack on the US embassy in Libya where four Americans, including US Ambassador Chris Stevens, were killed, has dogged Obama and his former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

And in the midst of the presidential election frenzy of 2016, a bombshell revelation that the administration had made a $400 million payment to Iran rocked many, though again, the media played down the scandal.

With the end of Obama’s White House tenure, the scandals continue to be uncovered, as more is learned about the many plots to undermine President Donald Trump – both as a candidate and once he took office in January 2017. New evidence uncovered has even pointed to the possibility that Obama officials may have been trying to target Trump with a Russian Collusion narrative months before he was even elected.

Trump has now vowed to declassify and release documents related to spying on his 2016 election campaign by the FBI, all under Obama’s watch.

Though Democrats continue to chase whatever they can in an effort to take down the president, the report from special counsel Robert Muelller revealed no one in Trump’s camp had colluded with Russia to interfere in the 2016 election and, if anything, proved again the level of corruption that existed at top government departments under Obama.

Deputy Attorney general Rod Rosenstein intimated as much in a speech Thursday when he previewed what could be more bombshells in the coming weeks about who was really to blame for the collusion delusion.

Meanwhile, Biden will continue to ride the wave of lies about a scandal-free administration, and the media will happily play along all — all while the scandals still continue to mount.
