Trump: ‘The USA has the absolute legal right’ to send immigrants to sanctuary cities. It’s real, he’s already planning with DHS, ICE

During an appearance Saturday on Fox News’ “Justice with Jeanine,” White House principal deputy press secretary Hogan Gidley confirmed that the White House has begun working with the Department of Homeland Security on a plan to transport illegal aliens to sanctuary cities.

He made the remarks two days after the mainstream media revealed that President Donald Trump’s administration intends to alleviate Democrat-induced crowding at U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s detention facilities by releasing detained illegals in sanctuary cities.

Though the report provoked massive backlash and rage from both congressional Democrats and even the mayors of sanctuary cities, Gidley noted to Fox News host Judge Jeanine Pirro that the administration is simply giving them exactly what they’ve been asking for since day one.

Listen:

“[T]he president said listen, there are sanctuary cities out there where Democrats have said we welcome any and all whether they criminals, whether they are here illegally, seeking asylum, regardless,” the White House principal deputy press secretary noted.

“Anybody who disagrees with us is racist. So the president said fine, I’ve got a great idea. We’d love to work with you guys to figure out exactly the best way to transport these people were here illegally and unlawfully and into your communities and your districts and your states.”

He added that the Trump administration is merely giving these cities “what they want.”

“They have said they wanted all of these illegal aliens into their communities,” Gidley noted. “We’re working with DHS, we’re working with ICE, to try and make sure that happens because after all, it’s what they want. “They should not say, ‘This is retribution politically.” They should say, ‘This is an olive branch.'”

The sanctuary city policies of Democrat-operated cities provide illegal aliens with protection from immigration authorities on the basis that illegal aliens benefit said cities culturally and economically.

Yet some of the very same Democrat mayors who have previously championed sanctuary city policies are now crying foul over the president’s plan to give them what they’ve asked for.

Speaking on CNN this Friday, Libby Schaaf, the mayor of Oakland, California, who last year illegally warned local illegal aliens of an impending ICE raid to save them from apprehension, claimed the president’s proposal is “an outrageous abuse of power and public resources.”

Listen:

Other sanctuary city mayors have issued similar declarations.

“It’s a sign of the president’s tremendous weakness as an executive and weakness as a leader, and of the degree to which he pales in comparison to all of his recent predecessors,” Mayor Daniel Drew of Middletown, Connecticut told The Daily Beast. “This threat is hollow and more than anything is a sign of the tremendous weakness of the Trump administration.”

Ted Wheeler, the mayor of Portland, Oregon, a sanctuary city that’s also one of the most left-wing cities in all of America, went so far as to call the president’s proposal “cruel.”

“Humans are not pawns. This is not a game. These are people’s lives,” he said. “Portland will continue to protect its sanctuary status in accordance with Oregon law and the U.S. Constitution. We strongly denounce the cruel efforts of this administration to retaliate against sanctuary cities.”

It’s unclear how funneling illegal aliens to sanctuary cities like Oakland, Middletown and Portland that welcome illegal aliens in violation of the law is in any way, shape or form “cruel.”

The president responded to the backlash in tweets Saturday by highlighting the “interesting” hypocrisy of these mayors and reminding them that he has the “absolute right” to carry out his plan.

Look:

Schaaf responded by accusing Trump of “fanning hate and division” but claiming she still allegedly “welcomes all, no matter where you came from or how you got here.”

HERE’S WHAT YOU’RE MISSING …

To be clear, it’s not actually known for certain whether Trump possesses the “absolute right” to funnel illegal aliens to sanctuary cities. During his appearance Saturday evening on Fox, Gidley stressed that White House lawyers are still “trying to figure out if we can do that legally.”

It would appear the president remains hopeful about his proposal nevertheless, likely because he realizes that the Democrats desperately need a wake-up call about the effects of illegal immigration.

The presumed thought process is that maybe a flood of illegal aliens arriving in their communities will wake both congressional Democrats and their mayoral counterparts to the devastating effects of illegal immigration that everyday Americans must contend with daily.

These effects include decreased wages, fewer job opportunities and increased crime.

While Democrats would say that what he wrote is cruel, it could be argued that it was perfectly fair given that sanctuary city mayors like Schaff claim they welcome “all.” And according to Merriam-Webster, the definition of all is in fact “every member or individual component of” a group.

And like the president said during a presser Friday, “California is certainly always saying they want more people, and if they want more people in their sanctuary cities, we will give them more people. We can give them an unlimited supply. And let’s see if they are so happy.”

“They always say they have open arms. Let’s see if they have open arms,” he added.
