White House counselor Kellyanne Conway tried unsuccessfully Sunday to explain to MSNBC host Chuck Todd that the reason President Donald Trump has had to resort to executive fiat to try and resolve the ongoing border/immigration crisis is because the Democrat Party has been taken over by radicals such as congresswomen Ilhan Omar, Rashida Tlaib and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
This takeover of the party by radicals has made it virtually impossible for him to negotiate with Democrats toward a bipartisan immigration resolution that would please both parties.
And so in a bid to try and wake up Democrat leaders like Speaker Nancy Pelosi, the president warned this week that unless they stop bowing to the radicals and start helping the administration resolve the crisis, he’ll have no other option but to begin transporting illegals to their cities.
Democrats must change the Immigration Laws FAST. If not, Sanctuary Cities must immediately ACT to take care of the Illegal Immigrants – and this includes Gang Members, Drug Dealers, Human Traffickers, and Criminals of all shapes, sizes and kinds. CHANGE THE LAWS NOW!

Speaking with the White House counselor Sunday afternoon, Todd took issue with this plan, arguing that it amounts to an unconstructive attempt to “browbeat Democrats” into submission.
“I think the rough rhetoric this week, respectfully, came from the other side. You have this anti-Semitic congresswoman who’s been rebuked by members of her own party now saying something happened to someone,” she began to explain to the NBC host, referring to Omar.
The Muslim congresswoman came under fire this week after video footage emerged showing her referring to the Sept. 11 attacks as an event wherein “some people did something.”
Conway’s point was that radicals such as Omar, among many others, now effectively control the party and direct its agenda. This is problematic because these radicals have no interest in working with the president toward resolving the ongoing border/immigration crisis.
The host was unable to understand this point.
Listen to the discussion below:
“Whoa, whoa, whoa, what are you talking, this has nothing to do with immigration,” he interrupted. “You’re trying, no, no, no, no, I know what you’re trying to do here, I want to go back to why the president is trying to browbeat Democrats.”
He then asked the counselor why Trump doesn’t just invite Democrats over to the White House for a congenial discussion on how to fix the situation along the border.
She replied by noting that he’s already tried that but that congressional Democrats are too busy fighting among themselves to deal with the immigration crisis, let alone anything really.
“I will tell you the Problem Solvers Caucus did come. There’s a great of frustration among some of the rank and file members who represent more moderate districts and frankly who represent districts that Donald Trump won in 2016. They’re very frustrated,” she said.
“They’ve been to the White House. They’ve talked to people like me quietly, saying they wish the radical freshmen who get all the magazine covers and all the ink and air time …”
She meant Omar, Tlaib and Ocasio-Cortez. As the president’s son Donald Trump Jr. pointed out in a tweet last week, these days it feels as if the three are now the party’s true leaders:
BREAKING: It appears that @SpeakerPelosi and her entire leadership team are no longer in charge of the House Dem Conference.
Pelosi now answers to and serves the new House Dem Leadership:
Majority Leader Omar
Majority Whip Tlaib

“I guess they’re very upset with the leadership today though because overnight or yesterday congresswoman Rashida Tlaib tweeted that she’s so tired of being used to show that the party is diverse and that they can’t get a seat at the table, can’t get their policy issues forward, something that was reweeted by congresswoman Ilhan Omar,” Conway added. “So I think there’s trouble in Pelosi’s paradise, but if she wants to fix immigration, she can come.”
Saturday evening Tlaib posted an inflammatory tweet accusing her party’s leadership of using minorities such as her, Omar and Ocasio-Cortez as “tokens of diversity.”
They put us in photos when they want to show our party is diverse. However, when we ask to be at the table, or speak up about issues that impact who we are, what we fight for & why we ran in the first place, we are ignored. To truly honor our diversity is to never silence us. https://t.co/7T1OlwS1YG

This mentality speaks to the wider sentiment of victimhood and grievance mongering that’s overtaken the entire Democrat Party. This mentality is relevant because it’s what’s driving radicals such as Omar, Tlaib and AOC to oppose any efforts to resolve the immigration crisis.
Note for instance how they responded to the president rightfully declaring a national emergency:
This is a fake emergency! Donald Trump is lying about the border in order to build his monument to racism. https://t.co/hVOVzLYDHw
— Ilhan Omar (@IlhanMN) April 3, 2019
“President Trump needs to stop lying to the American people and making up a crisis. He continues to play political games with real people’s lives.” https://t.co/wDbpMxN6n6
— Rashida Tlaib (@RashidaTlaib) January 9, 2019
“I didn’t need to do this” is admitting this isn’t an emergency at all.
“I didn’t need to do this” means he’s faking a crisis. https://t.co/TVqp0z4EHI
— Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (@AOC) February 15, 2019
FYI, even The New York Times has admitted that there’s a crisis along the border …
It’s unclear how on Earth the president is supposed to negotiate any sort of meaningful immigration resolution when people this radical are effectively in control of the Democrat Party. That was the point that Conway attempted to convey Sunday. Sadly, it flew right over Chuck Todd’s head.
