Talk radio host Rush Limbaugh said it seems like more than a coincidence that the very morning after Attorney General William Barr’s testimony that he thinks Donald Trump was spied on, Julian Assange was arrested in London.

“Is it too much to ask if maybe it’s a big coincidence that, all of a sudden, authorities found their way inside the Ecuadorian embassy in London and pulled out of there Julian Assange…?” asked Limbaugh.

“They used to love Julian Assange, folks,” he told his listeners. “The Drive-by media, the Democrat Party used to love this guy.”

Not anymore.

CNN, Limbaugh pointed out, didn’t seem at all concerned by images of police forcibly arresting a journalist, and the hosts of the morning program New Day, in fact, seemed to enjoy it.

Limbaugh played audio of the New Day” segments from earlier in the day with Alisyn Camerota and John Berman, with Berman saying, “Oh my God, look at him, the beard. I have not seen him looking like that,” referring to Assange, who was in full white beard and being carried by several police officers while handcuffed.

Camerota responds: “You know, that’s what they call the perp walk or the grab sot. And that is a fascinating one because, look as how many people it’s taking to take him down. He looks like Rip Van Winkle. He has aged more than seven year since he’s been in there. And it’s just fascinating to watch this. Let’s see it again.”

“Oh yeah. They’re rejuvenated, folks. They’re back to life,” said Limbaugh. “They’re back to being alive. They’re back on the path of getting Trump.”

“They were shell-shocked yesterday, folks,” Limbaugh said later. “Members of Congress, the media, they were shell-shocked when Barr admitted…Well, he didn’t admit…when Barr proclaimed that he thought there was spying on the Trump campaign.”

Julian Assange, the founder and editor of Wikileaks, released documents showing that the U.S. government was misleading the public about the war in Syria, and had in fact been looking to use transiting Islamists to stir up trouble for the democratically elected president, Bashar al-Assad, in order to weaken Syria, a foe of both Saudi Arabia and Israel.

But Democrats really turned on Assange after he released DNC emails just before the July 2016 Democratic National Convention that showed that the chairman, Debbie Wasserman Schultz and top staffers were actively working to help Hillary Clinton and hurt insurgent Bernie Sanders, despite their public pronouncements that the DNC was remaining neutral during the primary.

Assange was granted asylum by the government of Ecuador, and has lived in the Ecuadorian embassy in London for the last seven years, until today when he was arrested, brought to court and faced one charge of skipping bail, to which he pleaded guilty. He is expected to be extradited to the United States to face a one-count indictment for conspiracy for allegedly helping Chelsea Manning (the former Bradley Manning) access classified government documents.

Police in the United Kingdom confirmed Thursday that Assange was arrested “on behalf of the United States authorities.”

It was also reported that Sweden may re-open the sexual assault investigation involving Assange, an investigation that Assange insists is political in nature and intended to stop him from publishing information that authorities don’t want released.
