‘Doesn’t have the ba**s’: Lara Logan takes on ‘moral cowards’ at ex-employer CBS in blistering back-and-forth

In an interview this week, newly hired conservative news media journalist Lara Logan insisted that the allegedly discredited report she ran in 2013 about the Benghazi terror attack was mostly accurate and slammed her former longtime employers at CBS News for having thrown her under the bus.

“The attack on me and 60 Minutes was so intense it tells me that they regarded the substance of our report to be extremely threatening,” she said in an interview Wednesday with The Daily Beast.

Logan was a correspondent for CBS News’ “60 Minutes” until she ran a report in 2013 in which she highlighted evidence showing that, prior to the 2012 Benghazi terror attack, the Obama administration had been aware that an attack would likely occur but had chosen to take no precautions.

“You know the harder they come after you, the more you know you got it right. And I’m not defending one person’s account in the story that was the least important and only parts of which have been called into question. I’m not defending that,” Logan added Wednesday.

“I’m saying that over time, our story has been proved right. … All those people who said my Benghazi mistake was a result of shoddy reporting — my reporting on Al Qaeda was absolutely true.”

Following her report, it was learned that one of her eyewitnesses, government contractor Dylan Davies, had lied. Based on his lies, the media, including CBS News, chose to dismiss her entire report.

To this day, some at CBS News still claim her report was completely fabricated, including an unnamed CBS exec who took issue with Logan speaking her mind to The Daily Beast.

“I am so angry about all of this. Where does someone get the nerve to do this after completely inventing a phony story about what happened at Benghazi? A story that could have easily been debunked by one phone call to a government agent,” he reportedly said to the left-wing outlet.

“And she did not do that because she was biased and wanted that story to be true. She turned into a right-wing ideologue as she covered these wars and hung out further and further with all these right-wing military guys. … She is off the rails.”

In response, Logan excoriated the unnamed executive and his peers as “moral cowards.”

“A former CBS executive who doesn’t have the balls to put their name to what they’re saying?” she reportedly scoffed. “They’re cowards. They’re moral cowards. And I don’t care how angry they are. Their anger is their problem. It’s not my problem.”

She isn’t the only former CBS News reporter who’s turned against the network over the Benghazi scandal. Former investigative reporter Sharyl Attkisson has long maintained that the mainstream media, including her former employer, downplayed and/or ignored the scandal on behalf of then-President Barack Hussein Obama.

HERE’S WHAT YOU’RE MISSING …

“In mid-October 2012, with the presidential election coming up, Attkisson says CBS suddenly lost interest in airing her reporting on the Benghazi attacks,” the New York Post reported after the publication in 2014 of the journalist’s book, Stonewalled: My Fight for Truth Against the Forces of Obstruction, Intimidation, and Harassment in Obama’s Washington.”

“The light switch turns off. Most of my Benghazi stories from that point on would be reported not on television, but on the Web,” Attkisson herself reportedly wrote.

Yet despite two otherwise highly esteemed journalists leaving CBS News and joining Sinclair — which the left-wing media have rallied against because of its willingness to broach the news from a conservative angle (unlike the left-wing angle touted by every other outlet) — many among the left still view Logan as nothing but a political hack and “right-wing ideologue.”

Case in point:

It’s the same disparagement that Attorney General Bill Barr currently faces over his willingness to acknowledge the facts and pursue real justice versus following the lead of Obama-era Attorney General Eric Holder and pursuing a form of so-called “justice” rooted in politics.

It appears that at any time, anyone — be it a journalist, an attorney general or even a young black activist — attempts to pursue or tell the truth, they automatically become public enemy number one to not only the Democrat Party but to its many allies in the media, including those at CBS News.

Earlier this year Logan accused members of the mainstream media of being propagandists and liberal activists. Their continued attacks on Sinclair, on her, on Attkisson and on Barr suggest she’s right.
