Careful what you wish for? Here’s why some say Dems could regret pushing release of full Mueller report

Though congressional Democrats are clamoring loudly for special counsel Robert Mueller’s report to be released publicly and telling their constituents that it may contain damning information about President Donald Trump that could be used to impeach him, some suspect that the opposite may be true — that the report may contain damning information about Democrats.

This isn’t to say the report will contain nothing interesting about Trump but rather to suggest that the details contained within about the Democrats may wind up being far more interesting — and damning — than anything about Trump, as explained by Roger L. Simon of PJ Media.

“Sure there will be one or two tidbits to keep the heavy breathers at CNN distracted as their ratings continue to fall through the basement, but largely the report will be four hundred pages demonstrating what we all now know did not happen — i. e. collusion between Trump or anyone on his campaign and the Russians (not that we didn’t know that over a year ago),” he opined in a column Wednesday.

“The natural question will then be — what was all this for? Cui bono? A full airing of the report, what [Democrats claim they want], will instead ‘open the door,’ as they say in court, more than ever for an investigation of why this probe was launched in the first place, by whom and for what reason. The results of that investigation will be quite scary, if not humiliating, for Democrats because they will lead close to, if not over, their highest doorstep — the portals of the Oval Office during the previous administration.”

Does his theory carry any weight? A growing body of evidence suggests it does. Included among the previously reviewed evidence is the fact that Mueller’s probe was launched in part because of a fraudulent dossier funded by the Democrats, written by a British spy, based on Russian sources and eventually funneled into the hands of the anti-Trump bureaucrats in the FBI.

It was also launched because of the Department of Justice’s investigation into the president’s campaign officials, including Carter Page and George Papadopoulos, who came under the FBI’s gaze allegedly after they met with certain Russian officials during the 2016 presidential election.

Except a narrative has emerged suggesting that Carter and Papadopoulos were entrapped — or, more specifically, that then-President Barack Hussein Obama’s Department of Justice purposefully lured them into meeting with Russian officials so as to gain the footing needed to launch an investigation against Trump himself over allegations of collusion. This narrative hasn’t been proven yet.

Nevertheless, because of narratives such as this — as well as the disturbing remarks that former FBI special agent Peter Strzok made about an “insurance policy” against Trump’s election — some have speculated that the entire collusion probe was a “silent coup” perpetrated by “Obama intelligence agencies” to oust Trump from power after he unexpectedly won the 2016 presidential election.

“People unelected simply because they don’t like a guy’s hairstyle or like where he came from decided the American people’s decision was invalid and began a systematic process to get him thrown out of office,” conservative radio show host Rush Limbaugh suggested back in February.

“This is a silent coup. These guys, if you ask me, ought to be the ones in jail. They ought to be the ones under investigation. What they have done, working with agents from the Obama intelligence agencies, is simply unprecedented. … This is one of the greatest political hoaxes that has ever been perpetrated on the people of this country, certainly in a couple of generations.”

Whether this is true remains unknown. However, what’s known without a shadow of a doubt is that the president never colluded with Russian operatives. While Mueller’s report contained no conclusions about whether the president obstructed justice, it did explicitly specify that Trump never colluded,.

“[T]he investigation did not establish that members of the Trump Campaign conspired or coordinated with the Russian government in its election interference activities,” his report read.

Attorney General Bill Barr revealed this quote in the March 24 memo he published. He likewise included his and Deputy Attorney General Rosenstein’s judgment on obstruction of justice. He basically explained that since Trump didn’t collude with Russian operatives, that means there had been nothing for him to obstruct.

“In making this determination, we noted that the Special Counsel recognized that ‘the evidence does not establish that the President was involved in an underlying crime related to Russian election interference,’ and that, while not determinative, the absence of such evidence bears upon the President’s intent with respect to obstruction,” he wrote.

But for some inexplicable reason — Trump Derangement Syndrome, perhaps? — congressional Democrats and their left-wing media allies have refused to accept this conclusion and are now demanding that Mueller’s report be released in full so they can review his findings for themselves.

This cannot happen yet because the full report contains classified information that first needs to be redacted. Barr is currently working with Mueller to identify those parts of the report that need to be scrubbed, but Democrats and their media allies have continually ignored this fact.

But as noted by Simon, they may wind up regretting this, especially if information contained within the report winds up proving that the entire Russian collusion investigation was indeed a “silent coup” perpetrated by the administration of Barack Hussein Obama.
