Sean Hannity is in no mood to celebrate.
The Mueller report summary released by Attorney General William Barr on Sunday afternoon hardly registered a momentary truce. If Trump allies were hoping the Dems might see it in themselves to begin retracting their previous outrageous claims of Trump treason and start issuing apologies, they have not been living on this planet.
Fat chance. By Sunday evening and Monday morning many hardcore leftist pundits started attacking conservatives all over again. By Monday evening (if not before), Hannity, of Fox News, was livid.
“I am pissed off,” Hannity declared to his television audience.
“You have been lied to by other networks and the news media on a spectacular level for years and years.” He laid into MSNBC among others, saying “Let’s start with Rachel Maddow’s audience. They have been sold one conspiracy theory night after night after night, lies night after night. Twenty-two months, she has profited from these lies to her audience on a spectacular level. Frankly, she and her colleagues, so-called main stream media, so-called journalists, should be embarrassed tonight. They should feel humiliated tonight.
“They should be apologizing tonight to the American people.”
He pledged: “It will take me months, but we will follow every lead and we will remind you what has been done here. The truth has been laid bare here for all to see … no collusion, no obstruction, no conspiracy. No truth to the lies that have been peddled daily.”
“We on this program have been right all along. Unlike those in the mainstream media, we have been telling the truth, with evidence to back it up.”
“I am not in any type of celebratory mood here tonight,” he said after mentioning some viewers had been contacting him suggesting he should “spike the football” that he often tosses around from his studio desk.
“This is a time that every American that now knows the truth should be angry at what has happened. I am pissed off and so should the rest of the country be over what has happened.
“This is just the first chapter,” Hannity continued. “This must be a day of reckoning for the media, for the deep state, for people who abused power. They did it so blatantly in this country.
“If we do not get this right, if we do not hold these people accountable, I promise you with all the love I can muster for this country and for our future and our kids and grandkids, we will lose the greatest country that God has ever given man.”
He counted off some of the telling stats about the Mueller investigation …
- 675 days
- $25M
- 2800 subpoenas
- 500 witnesses interviewed
- 500 search warrants
He talked about the fact that many innocent lives were ruined, that legal bills have pushed many into or near bankruptcy such as Lt. Gen. Flynn–a 33 year combat veteran … “That’s how we repay him?” asked Hannity.
Clearly, justice has to prevail in America. There are traitors among us who have sought to do us all harm. Heads must roll.
