Libs cite respect for flag statutes and Kaepernick to go after Kid Rock’s pants

As a conservative today, sometimes you get up in the morning and after perusing the latest outrages you want to just go grab a 7-iron and gouge some divots.

Uncoincidentally there are plenty of progressives out there about as bright as a gnarly chunk of turf who show themselves for what they are when a topic like respect for the flag comes up.

High-profile celebrity patriots in the U.S. must be resigned to being targeted with commentary from useful idiots on the left. It’s become a sad new fact of life in this country. The population is seemingly divided between nationalistic pride and hate for all things American.

It’s a good guess however, that Kid Rock is in fact, proud of the potshots being lobbed his way by those on social media reacting to an image of him next to President Trump at the golf course. He’s as vocal an American patriot as there is today. No surprise at all that he chose to wear a loud and proud pair of slacks rockin’ Old Glory.

Obviously, the anti-Trumpers were triggered.

“What a great man,” the musician tweeted, describing the President.

Countless socialist seizures erupted.

Those pants were the final straw apparently.

Progressives grasping for straws seized on the pants … complaining that he was disrespecting the flag. In fact, some referenced the US Flag Code (put into place in 1942), implying that the law was being broken, given Rock’s attire. Side note on the Flag Code: Even US flag lapel pins would be verboten if it was valid and enforced.

Is that not priceless? Leftist snakes trying to point fingers at someone for disrespecting the flag …

  • lefties who themselves make up the political party that for years now continually comes up with new ways to desecrate the flag and its meanings …
  • lefties who seem to take special joy from burning the flag and stomping on it at public protests …
  • lefties who applaud athletes kneeling for the national anthem and U.S. flag …
  • lefties who adore and promote their brain dead politicians when they choose to ignore the pledge of allegiance to the flag of the United States of America.

Getting right to the point, there have been several federal laws enacted to protect the flag and some were subsequently rescinded. The US Supreme Court has weighed in on those laws multiple times.

The most pertinent ruling on the subject came in 1989 when the court ruled in favor of allowing the flag to be burned under certain circumstances. Essentially, flag-protection laws were ruled unconstitutional.

That ruling gave way to the flood of flag-motif items in the marketplace that we see today.

The rationale for that ruling is quite simple … the First Amendment of the U.S Constitution guarantees citizens the right to free expression and free speech.

Military veterans are often the most outspoken about how the flag is treated. Most combat veterans cherish the flag as a way to remember and give honor to fallen comrades, and as such often campaign to see the flag treated as a public treasure.

Yet there are many vets who also recognize the rights of others to burn the flag if that is how they wish to express themselves. It’s a freedom guaranteed in the US Constitution and those in the military swear an oath to uphold that Constitution.

Today, those who choose to wear the red, white, and blue generally do so out of joy and pride. In other words, they respect all that it stands for. Most would surely describe themselves as patriots and would insist that they are willing to die for those colors. Nobody wants to see that test be applied.

Bottom line is the idea of “respect” for the flag and/or for the ideas that it stands for … our people, our history, our freedoms, and those who have given their lives to defend the flag and the future of our nation.

Those who take pride in the U.S. flag and wear it well are displaying the utmost respect for what it stands for.

Anyone trying to mock or denigrate others for their patriotism is just a hater. The left, so attuned and sensitive to symbolism, is clearly just being weepy about their own defects and the strength of those who wave the flag.
