TIME mag releases glowing AOC cover, but may have overlooked one hilarious – yet fitting – faux pas

On Thursday, Time magazine unveiled the cover for its April 1, 2020, edition. This wouldn’t usually attract the attention of conservatives, who for the most part dislike the magazine because of its left-wing bias, except that this edition’s cover contained something unusual.

Under the date, April 1, 2020, which as a reminder denotes April Fool’s Day, was a picture of the Democrat Party’s biggest fool, socialist congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.

Look:

Was this a coincidence or a conspiracy? It was a coincidence, it would appear by a quick look at the headline: “The Phenom: How Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez became America’s lightning rod.”

Merriam-Webster defines phenom as “a person of phenomenal ability or promise.” That Time magazine would essentially label her a phenomenon suggests its the true April Fool.

AOC is the same radically left-wing and extraordinarily economically illiterate fool who released a so-called “Green New Deal” last month that’s so childish and absurd it caused Kimberley A. Strassel of The Wall Street Journal to burst out laughing so hard that she nearly cried.

As a reminder, this radical plan to stop man-made climate change calls for essentially redesigning America from top to bottom and creating a utopia where everybody is guaranteed a job (assuming they want one), in addition to free education, free healthcare, free housing, etc.

The radical plan also calls for eliminating combustion-engine vehicles (i.e., cars), airplanes, fossil fuel energy, nuclear energy, farting cows, meat and everything else that makes America great.

Despite the deal being a complete embarrassment and entirely unrealistic — much like her call for Medicare-for-All — Time magazine believes she deserves credit for starting a debate.

“So evaluating Ocasio-Cortez’s success depends on the time frame in which she is judged,” the magazine’s puff piece of her reads. “Will she help deliver Medicare for All and a Green New Deal in the next two years? No. But having the debate is already making a difference in how D.C. does business.”

Except that nobody who’s sane and reasonable is actually debating the non-existent merits of the Green New Deal and Medicare for All, both of which would bankrupt the nation.

What folks in D.C. are debating is whether or not AOC is completely or only partially bonkers. She is, after all, the same woman who falsely claimed the world will end in 12 years.

And what she said to Time suggests she still feels similarly about the Earth’s impending doom:

“I don’t think that we can compromise on transitioning to 100% renewable energy. We cannot compromise on saving our planet. We can’t compromise on saving kids,” she says. “We have to do these things. If we want to do them in different ways, that’s fine. But we can’t not do them”

Save the planet from what exactly? Her perhaps?

It’s been predicted that were the congresswoman’s radical deal implemented, it would destroy society.

“You don’t have a plan to grow food for 8 billion people without fossil fuels, or get the food into the cities,” Greenpeace co-founder noted in a scathing tweet around the start of the month.

“If fossil fuels were banned every tree in the world would be cut down for fuel for cooking and heating. You would bring about mass death.”

Excellent points, and unlike her, he actually knows what he’s talking about.

HERE’S WHAT YOU’RE MISSING …

The fact is that everything AOC opposes — from capitalism as a whole to the fruits it’s produced,  including airplanes, automobiles, fossil fuel energy and nuclear energy — has done more for the Earth and its inhabitants, including humans, than the system she supports, i.e. socialism.

“Not only has capitalism lifted more people out of poverty than any system ever implemented in the history of civilization, but in so doing, it has done more to protect the environment than any socialist or communist initiative,” the D.C.-based Committee for a Constructive Tomorrow nonprofit notes.

“Capitalism increases living standards. When living standards increase, people care more about the environment, and are more able to do something to protect it. According to the World Bank, world poverty rates have been declining in every region of the world over the last several decades.”

The numbers cited by CFACT prove it, including this chart from The Heritage Foundation:

One may therefore surmise that, conversely, socialist nations with less economic freedom take worse care of the environment. Yet turning America into a socialist nation is exactly what AOC seeks.

Yet some liberals are genuinely confused over why conservatives are drawing a link between the timing of Time magazine’s next edition and the cover photo it’s chosen to use.

Isn’t it obvious?

Indeed.
