Students relentlessly scream obscenities at Border Patrol agents, claim to feel unsafe as they follow them to car

Border Patrol agents who were asked to speak at the University of Arizona were subjected to shameful harassment by some students who compared them to the Ku Klux Klan and called them “murder patrol.”

The school’s Criminal Justice Association, which had previously hosted members of the Bureau of Alcohol, Firearms, and Explosives as well as Homeland Securities Investigations wing employees, was hosting the Border Patrol agents during an event on Tuesday for criminal justice majors, Daily Wire reported.

The students were seen in several videos posted on social media, badgering the agents, interrupting their presentation and even following them on campus chanting “murder patrol.”

“I don’t know who allowed the murder patrol. They allow murderers to be on campus where I pay to be here. Murderers! On campus. Murderers on campus!” one student filming the protest said.

“This is supposed to be a safe space for students but they allow an extension of the KKK into campus, an extension of the KKK into campus,” the student continued, interrupting the agents. “There are students that pay to be here, pay to be here, that need this to be a safe space for them and we have the KKK and their supporters right here at the U of A.”

“You’re welcome to sit in,” another student said as the person filming approached the classroom.

“Great, I can sit in the entire time, I’ll just be saying that they’re murderers the entire f***ing time because it’s the truth,” the student argued.

“They’re murderers, and you, as a club, should be more conscious of the rest of the students on this campus,” the woman said, adding that she did not “feel safe with them here.”

A student inside the class threatened to call campus police, and did.

“Of course, white people calling the police, white women calling the police,” the other student declared.

Even as the agents left the class, they were followed by the protesting students who continued to harass them all the way to their car chanting “murder patrol.” They met up with another group of students chanting “Police and ICE, same s**t twice.”

To their credit, the agents never engaged with the chanting students and ignored their disrespectful behavior until they drove away.

“As fellow Americans, we fully support the First Amendment right given to all U.S. citizens, but there comes a point where it’s harassment rather than an open dialogue with opposing views,” the university’s College Republicans said in a statement to Daily Wire.

“The incident towards the two border patrol agents was disrespectful and disruptive to an educational meeting about Border Patrol,” the organization’s Cassandra Bauserman and Matthew Minor added, noting that the University of Arizona campus is only 70 miles away from the border.

“Being educated about what our border security entails is important for people interested in the topic,” they said.

“As College Republicans, being able to have an open dialogue is extremely important to us between people of different views as we want to talk about difficult issues, especially as the 2020 election is approaching,”  they added. “However, behavior reflected in the video is something we discourage as we are all residents of the United States.”

The protesting students were roundly condemned on Twitter.
