Where’s Judge Jeanine? Fox News pulls Pirro’s show off air this week after dustup over Omar comments

Every Saturday at 9:00 pm, nearly two million viewers tune in to watch “Justice with Judge Jeanine” on Fox News. Yet when these viewers turned the tube to FNC this Saturday, they were instead greeted by an encore of the network’s “Scandalous: The Trial of William Kennedy Smith” docu-series.

Viewers took note and were not pleased.

Observe some of the reaction below:

Host Judge Jeanine Pirro’s fans worry that she may have been fired. Recall what happened to former host Bill O’Reilly after The New York Times ran a piece on him in 2017 revealing that he’d settled a number of sexual harassment lawsuits in court. Fox pulled him off the air and then announced his termination several days later. Could the same be happening to Pirro?

The troubles for the former New York prosecutor began after she made allegedly controversial remarks on her program last Saturday about anti-Semitic Muslim congresswoman Ilhan Omar. Pirro theorized that perhaps the congresswoman’s anti-Semitism is a product of her Islamic faith.

“This is not who your party is,” Pirro said of the Democrats. “Your party is not anti-Israel. She is. Think about this. [Omar] is not getting this anti-Israel sentiment doctrine from the Democrat Party. So if it’s not rooted in the party, where is she getting it from?”

“Omar wears a hijab, which according to the Quran 33:59, tells women to cover so they won’t get molested. Is her adherence to this Islamist doctrine indicative of her adherence to sharia law, which is antithetical to the U.S. Constitution?”

Listen to her monologue below:

Left-wing critics promptly pounced on the judge afterward, accusing her of spouting Islamophobic rhetoric. Apparently, it’s a cardinal sin to question the national loyalty of a Muslim. But when Omar repeatedly questions the national loyalty of her Jewish colleagues, that’s OK …

Fox took the bait and immediately jumped to condemn Pirro:  “We strongly condemn Judge Jeanine Pirro’s comments about Rep. Ilhan Omar. They do not reflect those of the network and we have addressed the matter with her directly,” the network said in a statement last Sunday.

And now a week later the top-rated judge has disappeared from the network and social media. “We’re not commenting on internal scheduling matters,” a spokesperson for Fox News said.

She was last heard last Saturday when she issued a statement in defense of her monologue.

“I’ve seen a lot of comments about my opening statement from Saturday night’s show and I did not call Rep. Omar un-American,” she said. “My intention was to ask a question and start a debate, but of course because one is Muslim does not mean you don’t support the Constitution.”

Interestingly, this is the exact justification that Omar’s defenders, including white supremacist David Duke, have cited in defense of her anti-Semitism. They’ve claimed that she was just trying to “start a conversation” about Israel’s allegedly shady and malign influence over the political affairs of the U.S., not to mention its allegedly abusive behavior toward Palestinian terrorists:

The difference is that whereas Pirro, a political commentator, has been either been temporarily or permanently booted from Fox News, Omar, an elected congresswoman, remains not only in Congress but on three committees: the House Budget Committee, the House Foreign Affairs Committee and the Committee on Education and Labor.

Moreover, the Democrat Party has refused to condemn her. Instead, it passed a vague, watered-down so-called “anti-hate” resolution that didn’t even mention her. The resolution didn’t even include the words “anti-Semite” or “anti-Semites.”

The fact that Fox News has meanwhile bowed to the pro-Omar lobby — and much to Omar’s pleasure — is not sitting well with Judge Jeanine Pirro’s most ardent fans.
