First ‘non-binary’ person explains regret and revenge by leftists when he dared to challenge their narrative

In 2016 an Oregon man named Jamie Shupe was heralded as a hero by the left after he became the first American to be legally recognized as a “non-binary” person. Yet three year later he’s now a hated figure and outcast among the allegedly tolerant left. Speaking Monday evening with Fox News host Laura Ingraham, he explained why.

“The minute you denounce anything transgenderism wise, you’re automatically an outcast. For example, I support President Trump’s ban on transgender military service. I do not agree with transitioning children or transgender surgeries. I’m against all of this,” he said.

In an accompanying op-ed published last weekend, the retired U.S. Army soldier explained that after he expressed opposition to “the sterilization and mutilation of gender-confused children and transgender military service members in 2017,” both the LGBT community and their media allies ostracized him.

“Overnight, I went from being a liberal media darling to a conservative pariah,” he wrote. “Both groups quickly began to realize that the transgender community had a runaway on their hands. Their solution was to completely ignore me and what my story had become. They also stopped acknowledging that I was behind the nonbinary option that now exists in 11 states.”

The same thing happened to liberal attorney Alan Dershowitz after he started defending President Donald Trump from spurious allegations of still-unproven criminality.

The backlash against Shupe only ballooned further after he realized that his transformation from a biological male to a so-called “non-binary” person was nothing but “medical and scientific fraud.” As of January, he correctly identifies as a biological male again.

“I believe that gender identity is a fraud perpetrated by psychiatry, the likes of something the United States and other nations hasn’t experienced since the lobotomy era,” he wrote in a blog post published two months ago. “As a result, I have returned to my male birth sex.”

“In my thirty plus year marriage, I am the husband. To my daughter, I am her Father. I no longer identify as a transgender or non-binary person and renounce all ties to transgenderism. I will not be a party to advancing harmful gender ideologies that are ruining lives, causing deaths and contributing to the sterilization and mutilation of gender-confused children.”

He was right. The transgender lifestyle is fraught with regret and suicides. But why has Schupe turned against everything he once believed? Because of its negative effects on him in particular.

“I took estrogen and progesterone and now have irreversible breast growth,” he explained Monday evening to Ingraham. “I had a number of health complications from this. I have now bone density problems, I’ve had kidney problems. And at one point my mental health was so destabilized by the hormones that I had two stays in a psychiatric ward because of it.”

He realizes now that his “sexual confusion” was just in his head.

“I do not have any disorders of sexual development,” he wrote in his op-ed. “All of my sexual confusion was in my head. I should have been treated. Instead, at every step, doctors, judges, and advocacy groups indulged my fiction.”

And the media. The media portrayed him as a hero because it was his courtroom activism that spurred an Oregon judge to rule that he has the right to identify as a third, non-existent gender. But now that he’s seen the light of day, the same media refuse to give him the time of day.

“Regret is very common, but again the media doesn’t want to talk about the surgeries that go wrong and the host of health complications,” he said, adding how grateful he is that conservatives (whom the media claim are intolerant) are willing to listen to his story.

“I was previously a transgender media darling, and now The New York Times doesn’t want to talk about me anymore or even acknowledge that I exist because I no longer support this stuff. Conservatives are to be commended for what they’re doing to help us, to help children.”

It was via the Heritage Foundation’s news publication The Daily Signal that Shupe published his op-ed:

Shupe’s ordeal is a reminder that the mainstream American media are not truth tellers — they’re left-wing operatives hellbent on touting only those non-scientific, economically illiterate and patently dangerous narratives that align with the left’s twisted worldview.

And if it weren’t for conservative media, stories like his would never be heard:
