Newt Gingrich puts a bow on it: ‘Young Democrats are throwing a party, and the grandparents are not invited’

For years the Democrat Party’s aging leadership has courted young “progressive” radicals across the country by indulging their every inane whim, be it their demands for biological science to be thrown out the window or their demands for cops to be robbed of their authority.

And now, years later, the Democrats’ many chickens are coming home to roost, longtime political operator Newt Gingrich argued in a column Friday.

“The radical young voters the Democrats have been courting for years have finally elected like-minded radical young representatives — and Pelosi and her leadership team has no control over them,” he wrote.

Correct. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is practically wilting in the “fiery clutch” of freshman Democrats such as Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Ilhan Omar, Rashida Tlaib and Ayanna Pressley.

All three have repeatedly made headline news since the start of the 116th U.S. Congress because of Ocasio-Cortez’s insane “Green New Deal,” because of Ilhan’s non-stop anti-Semitism, because of Tlaib’s foul mouth and because of Pressley’s own insane proposals.

They’ve likewise steered the House’s agenda. Instead of passing an anti-hate resolution condemning Omar for her anti-Semitism, for instance, the House passed a watered-down resolution this week that didn’t even mention the Muslim congresswoman by name.

Why? Mainly because of AOC, who some claim is the real speaker of the House.

Undergirding this huge divide, according to Gingrich, is the “wide generational gap between Democratic House leadership and freshmen Democrats.”

He noted in his column that the average age of congressional Democrat leaders is 71. In Pelosi’s case, she’s 78. The ages of AOC, Omar, Tlaib And Pressley are 29, 37, 42 and 45, respectively. Ocasio-Cortez is therefore just a bit over a third as old as the speaker.

“To the new Democrats, the members of leadership are like the grandparents,” Gingrich continued. To the new Democrats, Pelosi’s team represents an outdated, backward way of thinking about government. How many 30-somethings do you know who share the same point of view as their 80-year-old grandparents?”

The result is, these new Democrats are throwing a party — and the grandparents aren’t invited. Pelosi and members of Democratic leadership are simply trapped in a cycle of responding to headlines. This is how you end up with the so-called Green New Deal, which is a work of complete legislative fantasy that would utterly bankrupt the country. It’s also how the House got to a second forced public condemnation of the new Democrats’ flagrant anti-Semitism. Pelosi simply can’t control the young, radical, progressive wing, which is ardently socialist, anti-Israel, and contemptuous of America and its history.”

Not only does this divide threaten to fracture the party, but it’s prevented Democrats from coalescing around any single theme except for their shared hatred of President Donald Trump.

“Already, because of Pelosi’s inability to control her caucus, the Democrats can’t do anything positive. It’s making them desperate. The most they can do is focus their efforts on their shared vendetta against President Trump and everyone in his orbit,” Gingrich explained.

But this divide is as relevant to the upcoming 2020 presidential election as it is to the Democrat-controlled House’s daily operations. How so? Because former Vice President Joe Biden, the man with the highest chance of defeating the president, is among the old guard.

“The party has gone increasingly left-leaning. Joe Biden may not be in the mainstream of the Democratic Party anymore,” Fox News contributor Lisa Boothe noted Friday evening on “Tucker Carlson Tonight.”

Listen to her full discussion with host Tucker Carlson below:

She added that he has a lot of otherwise perfectly sane and reasonable behavior and rhetoric he has to account for. For instance, as a senator in 2006, he voted in favor of a bill that mandated the construction of 700 miles of physical barriers along the southern U.S. border.

Unfortunately for the former VP, the young and hip Democrat Party of 2019 is into open borders.

Concluding his column, Gingrich warned that the party’s divide will only grow more pronounced.

“The new Democrats’ private party will become increasingly raucous until it has lost all touch with normal Americans,” he concluded. “Moderate Democrats will have to continue answering for their colleague’s radicalism. Pelosi and the grandparents will not be invited along, but they will still be left cleaning up the mess.”

Assuming the mess can even be cleaned up to begin with.

Do conservatives want the mess cleaned up, though? Some would argue no, since this growing mess only weakens the party. Others say yes, because the bigger the mess, the higher likelihood that the Democrats’ burgeoning radicalism will spill over into the rest of America:

Of course, there’s always the chance that the Democrats’ radicalism will drive the American people into re-electing Trump in 2020:
