Who’s the real speaker of the House? According to Fox News host Sean Hannity, it’s certainly not Nancy Pelosi. While she technically holds the title of speaker, her recent behavior suggests she’s nothing but a pawn or puppet to the party’s more radical elements, he argued Wednesday.
As evidence, he pointed to her defense of anti-Semitic Muslim congresswoman Omar Ilhan. Earlier Wednesday she reportedly told Jake Sherman of Politico that the freshman congresswoman’s recent comments about Jews weren’t “intentionally anti-Semitic.”

“Instead of taking punitive action, Speaker Pelosi is making excuses for the congresswoman,” Hannity noted later that evening on his eponymously titled Fox News show. “She’s obviously afraid of taking this stand. Why? Because congresswoman Ocasio-Cortez is publicly supporting Omar.”
One of the Muslim congresswoman’s staunchest defenders has been fellow freshman congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who this week has been publicly pushing back against a resolution to condemn anti-Semitism that was introduced by Pelosi.

“Calling out” is one of the measures of last resort, not 1st or 2nd resort.
We do it when repeated attempts to “call in” are disrespected or ignored. And I believe that Ilhan, in her statement a few weeks ago, has demonstrated a willingness to listen+work w/impacted communities.

If we called resolutions on sexist statements, a good chunk of Congress would be gone.

The resolution was originally scheduled for a vote Wednesday but has since been indefinitely delayed because of pushback from radicals like Ocasio-Cortez, among others.
In fact, when the “House speaker” held a closed-door meeting with Democrats on Wednesday to discuss the resolution, she was reportedly “taken aback” by the pro-Omar fury she encountered.
“So that means without a doubt House Speaker Pelosi is terrified of being overthrown by even more radicals within her party,” Hannity’s monologue continued. “So tonight it’s pretty safe to say that the real speaker of the House for the Democrats is Ocasio-Cortez, not Nancy Pelosi.”
“She’s calling the shots,” he added. “And sadly, this kind of apathy about racism, bigotry inside the Democrat Party — it’s nothing new.”

Within the past month or so alone Democrats have made headlines for having worn blackface in the past, for referring to black people with the n-word, for handing out cotton to black children and for continuing to associate with notorious anti-Semites like Linda Sarsour.
“Sarsour frequently advocates for Shariah law, she once applauded the genital mutilation of Ayaan Hirsi Ali, she recently blamed the ‘Jewish media’ for negative press — and Sarsour is beloved by so many on the left,” Hannity explained.
“In fact, she even shared with many prominent Democrats, including recently presidential contenders Bernie Sanders and Kirsten Gillibrand.”

“And earlier Sarsour wouldn’t even say whether Irsrael and the Jewish people who live there have a right to even exist,” Hannity concluded.
Yet all this blatant bigotry and hatred is dismissed and buried by Pelosi, lest she upset AOC and crew.
