**UPDATE: March 14** Jay Barrett passed away on March 13 — one week after getting his dying wish, which was a call from President Trump.
“He really did live one of the best weeks of his life last week,” said his sister, Bridgette Hoskie. “That phone call meant everything to him.”

President Donald Trump fulfilled the last wishes of a dying Connecticut man by calling him. Amazingly, the touching encounter was arranged with the help of his sister — an elected Democrat councilwoman.
Jay Barrett is a 44-year-old man who’s dying of cystic fibrosis.
Dying Man’s Democrat Sister Launched Campaign
One of Jay’s dying wishes was to get a phone call from President Trump. So his sister — Democrat city councilwoman Bridgette Hoskie — launched a social media campaign to make it happen, Fox News Connecticut reported.
Hoskie — who describes herself as “100% Democrat” — was stunned when she received a surprise call from Trump this week.
Bedridden Man Jumps to His Feet to Talk to POTUS
Hoskie handed her brother Jay Barrett the phone, where he heard someone say: “I’m the secretary for the president of the United States. Do you have time to talk to him?”
The bedridden Barrett got on his feet to greet President Trump.
Trump: We Both Keep Fighting, OK?
Here’s how that conservation unfolded:
Trump: “Hello.”
Barrett: “Holy Christ!”
Trump: “Hi Jay, you look handsome. I just saw a picture of you. How are you doing, Jay? I read a beautiful story about you and I said I want to call that man. That’s my kind of guy.”
Barrett: “Mr. President, through thick and thin — I support you.”
Trump: “Wow. That’s beautiful, man. We love you, Jay. We love you, man. That’s really beautiful what you just said. I won’t forget it. You keep that fight going. We both keep that fight going, okay?”
Barrett: “I will to my end.”
His sister posted the call to Facebook.

Eric Trump Also Called Jay: ‘We’re Praying for You’
President Trump told Barrett that he wishes Jay could come to a rally sometime. Trump said if he ever holds a rally in Connecticut, he promises that Jay will “be sitting front row, center.”
Jay Barrett said he also received calls from Eric Trump and Lynne Patton, a HUD administrator (who last week was called a black “token” by Muslim Democrat Rashida Tlaib).
Barrett said Eric and Lynne both told him they were “pulling and praying” for him. Patton will visit Jay on Saturday (March 9) at his sister’s Connecticut home, where he plans to live out the remainder of his life.
Lynne Patton says she has some gifts for Jay from President Trump.
