Democrats are pulling out all the stops to prevent President Donald Trump from any success is stemming the flow of illegal immigrants into the United States, regardless of the negative impact, it has on the lives of U.S. citizens or the public treasury.
Even threatening to encroach on the U.S. Constitution if the Supreme Court upholds Trump’s emergency declaration on the porous southern border.
The opposition party has repeatedly said Trump’s declaration will be used by the next president from their party as an impetus to circumvent Congress to enact gun control measures, according to Fox News.
“Just think of what a president with different values can present to the American people,” Speaker Nancy Pelosi said on the anniversary of the shooting in Parkland, Fla. “Want to talk about a national emergency? Let’s talk about today, the one year anniversary of another manifestation of the epidemic of gun violence in America. That’s a national emergency. Why don’t you declare that emergency Mr. President? I wish you would. But a Democratic president can do that. A Democratic President can declare emergencies as well.”
Sen. Chris Murphy, D-Conn., said pretty much the same thing the following day.
“100 people die from guns every day. That’s a national emergency. If Trump gets away w this border emergency declaration, then a Dem President can declare a gun violence emergency and institute universal background checks and an assault weapons ban by executive action,” he tweeted.

Never mind that this characterization of gun violence as a national emergency is not true, as noted by the NRA.
“Since 1991, the murder rate has fallen by 45 percent and the overall violent crime rate has fallen by 48 percent,” the pro-Second Amendment group said in a release. “At the same time that violent crime was falling, Americans were acquiring a record number of firearms.”
The Dems and Pelosi’s characterization of "gun violence" as a national emergency is incorrect. Since '91, both the murder rate and the overall violent crime rate has fallen by an avg. of 47%. At the same time, Americans acquired a record number of firearms.https://t.co/WCRrFHUwum

But this doesn’t stop Democrats from manipulating the political narrative to achieve their long sought after goal of gun control in America. Confident the national media is firmly in their corner, liberals boldly declare their intentions.
As seen with Democratic presidential candidate Julian Castro recently, they create a reality of their own when pursuing their agenda –which includes climate control.
Castro said in an appearance on MSNBC, “I will come into office with a strong belief that climate change is a national emergency, that the fact that so many people in this country die because of gun violence, that is a national emergency.”
“If the president’s action, in this case, is upheld by the Supreme Court, then it does open up new avenues for future presidents to take action.”
And the 2020 presidential hopeful is not the only Democrat singing from this choir book:
I stand in solidarity with those rallying across the country against the President’s manufactured national emergency. It’s time we address the actual emergencies plaguing our nation: gun violence, lack of access to health care, and climate change.

Gun violence is an emergency.
Climate change is an emergency.
Our country's opioid epidemic is an emergency.Donald Trump's ridiculous wall is not an emergency.

Mass shootings are a national emergency. We can't accept so many lives being taken from us by gun violence, or the gun lobby greed that trades lives for profits. I'm praying for the Aurora, Illinois community and the victims' loved ones. We have to stop this crisis.

Heartbroken over the situation in Aurora, Illinois. We in Colorado know too well the pain Aurora is feeling tonight. Gun violence is the real national emergency plaguing our nation. It’s time we finally did something about it.
