Democrat Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib may have violated campaign finance rules when she paid herself $17,500 as a salary from her campaign funds AFTER the November 2018 midterm elections ended.
FEC filings show that Tlaib’s campaign fund disbursed $15,500 on December 1 and $2,000 on November 16. The election was over on November 6, so why did Tlaib continue to pay herself from her congressional campaign donations?
FEC rules state that a candidate can no longer draw a salary from her campaign funds after the election, but Tlaid paid herself from her campaign donations 10 days AFTER the election. This is a violation of FEC campaign finance rules.
Elijah Cummings Scolds Tlaib’s Race-Baiting
Rashida Tlaib is still dealing with bipartisan backlash after calling a black Trump aide “a prop” while accusing Republican Congressman Mark Meadows of being a racist.
That race-baiting stunt earned the Muslim Tlaib an unexpected scolding from Democrat Elijah Cummings, who’s the chairman of the House Oversight Committee.
Cummings asked Tlaib: “I want to make sure I understand: You were not intending to call Mr. Meadows a racist, is that right?”
After being rebuked, Tlaib walked back her race-baiting comments: “No, Mr. Chairman, I did not call Mr. Meadows a racist. I do apologize if that’s what it sounded like. ”

In January 2019, several Democrats — including Senator Joe Manchin — slammed Rashida Tlaib after she bragged that she’s going “impeach that motherf***er“ Donald Trump.
“It was horrible,” Senator Manchin said of Tlaib’s profane attack. “No one should approve of that. I hope she doesn’t talk to her son that way, either. I can’t in any way condone that.”
