Ocasio-Cortez questions morality of having kids over meal prep, calls Dianne Feinstein a political coward

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., the 29-year-old democratic socialist, fancies herself an authority on whether to have children or not.

Taking her zealotry on climate change to the next level, Ocasio-Cortez said Sunday on Instagram Live that Millennials are struggling with the morality of whether it is okay to have children or not.

The Bronx freshman recently said that “the world is gonna end in 12 years if we don’t address climate change,” and continuing along the lines of that dramatic theme, she cited a “scientific consensus” to say that children will have a “difficult” life.

“Our planet is going to hit disaster if we don’t turn this ship around,” Ocasio-Cortez said in the video as she prepares a meal. “And so, it’s basically like there’s a scientific consensus that the lives of children are going to be very difficult, and it does lead, I think, young people, to have a legitimate question: Is it OK to still have children?”

The socialist also drew on burdensome student debt as a contributing factor.

“Not just financially because people are graduating with 20, 30, $100,000 worth of student loan debt,” she continued. “And so they can’t even afford to have kids and a house, but also just this basic moral question, like, ‘what do we do?’ And even if you don’t have kids, there are still children here in the world and we have a moral obligation to leave a better world for them.”

Speaking about a sense of urgency, Ocasio-Cortez took a not-so-veiled shot at Sen. Diane Feinstein, who has released her own climate change proposal that’s not quite as radical as the Green New Deal the newly elected New York Democrat backs.

“People are trying to introduce watered down proposals that are frankly going to kill us,” Ocasio-Cortez said, after mocking Feinstein’s response to children who cornered her on climate change — the senator told the children she has “been doing this for 30 years” and could not support the Green New Deal.

She went on at length about how Feinstein has failed for 30 years, saying that people are now dying “in the thousands.”

Having just declared herself “boss” when it comes to climate change, Ocasio-Cortez said “there is no hope” for the planet unless extremist plan passes.

“So the whole premise of the Green New Deal is that we’re screwed, okay?” she said at one point. “I’m sorry to break it to you. If we do nothing, there’s no hope, period. That’s just the principle across the board.”

Little Miss Sunshine reiterated the point that there’s no hope and we are all going to die if we don’t act.

“If we do not act, there is no hope,” Ocasio-Cortez continued. “The only time we can hope is when we act. But, when it comes to climate, in particular, we’re actually screwed. There is a global threat to the planet. A global threat. And at this point, we don’t even have to prove it. Just walk outside in winter in a lot of places and it’s, either way, worse than you’re used to or way warmer than you’re used to. Hurricane storms, wildfires — we are doing now.”
