A former Obama era official has blasted the far-left Democrat Party and its media allies for denying the reality of the crisis occurring along the southern U.S. border.
After President Donald Trump declared a national emergency Friday in order to acquire the funds needed go begin construction of a much-needed wall along the border, both Democrats and their media allies cried foul, accusing the president of manufacturing a crisis.
“Mark, is the president making up an emergency,” fill-in host Brian Kilmeade asked former U.S. Border Patrol Chief Mark Morgan during the Friday edition of Fox News’ “Tucker Carlson Tonight.”
Listen to Morgan’s response below:
“Absolutely not, and Brian this is the part of the frustration for those of us from a law enforcement, border security perspective,” the irate Obama era chief replied.
“How many more statistics do we have to provide? How many more factually based examples do we have to provide? How many more angel families have to stand in front of some of these individuals before they finally say, ‘Yeah okay, this is real.’ It’s just incredulous.”
Statistics show that nearly 2000 migrants illegally cross into the United States every single day. A notable number of those migrants go on to commit additional crimes, including but not limited to theft, child molestation, rape, assault and even murder.
“It’s true,” Kilmeade replied, “and the other thing I thought about to mark, and because I know you served during the Obama years, there was an emergency then — they chose not to act on it. it doesn’t mean there’s not one now, and it doesn’t mean they’re not getting worse.”
Leftists think that the Obama administration’s inaction on illegal immigration proves that no crisis exists on the border. They also think that border apprehensions are down. False.
There’s been an 85% INCREASE in apprehensions at the U.S.-Mexico border.
More than 200,000 people tried to enter our country illegally in just the last 4 months.

“Look at the take right now: Sixty thousand are coming in a month illegally into this country. This year so far 62 caravans of 100 or more, 13 of all of last year. 2000 in one single day this week. So the numbers are climbing, but it’s manufactured, right?” Morgan noted.
He also debunked the claim that drugs aren’t being smuggled into America in-between ports of entry.
“It’s an absolute false narrative,” he said. “60 percent of the southwest border does not have enough infrastructure, technology and personnel. I call that wide open. So they’re disingenuous when they talk about the ports, because we don’t know what’s getting through, but we do know it’s getting through, and there’s a lot that we’re not interdicting between the ports.”
When Kilmeade then asked why the left is denying reality and even arguing that the walls already active along the border need to be removed, Morgan replied with two words: identity politics.
“[T]his is absolutely driven on identity politics,” he said. “The experts have spoken both on ICE, both on the United States Border Patrol in CBP, and they’ve told Congress what they need to protect our borders for the security and safety of this country. And they have not just ignored it — they have just absolutely discounted everything they have said.”
“And unfortunately to me, I’ve only drawn one conclusion: It’s based on an identity politics.”

The left’s dangerous, fact-free brand of identity politics says that it’s racist and immoral for the sovereign nation of the United States to protect its borders from invading migrants.
Case in point:
This President continues to try and go around the checks and balances in our government. This wall is racist and unnecessary and I’m going to do everything I can to stop this national emergency declaration.

BREAKING: Trump just announced he will declare a fake emergency so he can steal billions of our tax dollars to try and build a racist wall he will never even start to build. What a gross and disgusting abuse of power. This is absurd. Another sad day in America due to Trump.

Trump’s National Emergency isn’t about the wall. It’s about saving face with his racist base. Fact is the House of Representatives will vote to cancel it, the Senate will vote to confirm it, and the courts will overturn it. And in the long meantime not a dime will go to the wall.

BREAKING: We will sue Trump if he declares a national emergency to build his racist wall.
If this invocation of emergency on false pretenses is tolerated, it could justify almost limitless abuses of presidential power, including far-reaching clampdowns on civil rights. pic.twitter.com/gq7KceGBjh

FACT: There is no national security emergency at the border. Trump created a fake crisis in order to get $$$ for his racist border wall and cruel deportation forces that hurt immigrant families.#FakeTrumpEmergency #DefundHate

“I just don’t think you should call national emergencies unless there truly is a national emergency. There’s no national emergency at our border,” said @HillaryClinton

This declaration of national emergency is immoral and unnecessary.
A wall is not the answer.

It is downright immoral that at a time when 1 in 8 Americans are food insecure, 500,000 Americans are homeless, & the average tax return is 25% less than last year—45 is using executive powers to spend billions on a wall we don’t need for a national emergency that doesn’t exist.

The left said the same thing about the president’s ban on immigration and travel from countries linked to Islamic terrorism. Despite their complaints, the Supreme Court ultimately ruled in Trump’s favor. The president is hopeful the same thing will happen again.
