Maxine Waters wants Americans to protest against Trump’s ‘fake emergency powers’

Auntie Maxine is at it again.

Rep. Maxine Waters is putting out a call for nationwide protests all weekend against President Donald Trump and his “fake emergency powers.”

The California Democrat went on a predictable rant during an interview Friday with Chris Hayes on MSNBC, slamming Trump’s declaration of a national emergency on the U.S.-Mexico border.

Waters explained on “All in with Chris Hayes” that Democratic leadership was considering a resolution of disapproval which would counter Trump’s decision Friday to declare a national emergency so as to secure more funding for a wall along the southern border.

“We can let this president know what we think about this fake emergency that he’s creating,” she said.

Waters claimed Trump was “literally being pushed by the right-wing conservatives that he listens to” to make the move out of fear of not being re-elected.

“So he’s up against a wall by trying to make sure he does everything he can to make it look as though he’s fighting real hard to get this wall,” the Democratic lawmaker continued.

“I really expect we’re going to have a growing number of Republicans that are going to join with us in this disapproval. Yes, they’re concerned if a Democratic president gets elected then they can use emergency powers to do a lot of the things they don’t like,” she went on.

Hayes asked Waters about her favorite anti-Trump topic, impeachment, in light of the state of emergency declaration.

“I’ve been talking about impeachment for a long time. I’m absolutely stunned and amazed that the American people have taken so much off of this president,” she responded.

“This president has lied, I think it’s been documented, 8,000 times in the last two years. This president has committed obstruction of justice right before our very eyes. And if we could ever get Manafort to tell the truth, then we will find they conspired to get Trump elected so sanctions could be lifted off of Russia,” she added, spiraling off into a rant about Russia, drilling in the Arctic and sanctions.

“The Americans have taken too much off of this president. He is dishonorable. He does not deserve to be president of the United States. As a matter of fact, he loves Putin, dictators, loves Kim Jong-un, talking about they’re in love now,” Waters said.

She then issued her rallying cry, much like last year’s urging of supporters at a rally in Los Angeles to confront Trump administration officials “anywhere” they see them.

“And so it’s time for everybody to stand up. All hands on deck to refuse this president these fake emergency powers that he would like the have,” Waters announced on MSNBC Friday.

“And so I’m urging everybody get together —rally in every community across this country all this weekend, send a message to Washington, D.C., ‘No, Mr. President, we’re not going allow you to do this,'” she said.

While her supporters and Trump-haters on the left cheered her on, many Twitter users begged Waters to can it and focus on being part of the solution in Congress.
