NYPD ‘bent over backward’ to hide immigration status of MS-13 gangster involved in brutal murder ahead of SOTU

It’s becoming more clear that President Trump is not only up against the media in his fight to enhance border security, but also a number of Democrat-run American cities, to include some police departments in the liberal municipalities.

The New York Police Department “bent over backward” to keep the suspect in a brutal murder out of the public eye in the run-up to President Donald Trump’s State of the Union, according to the New York Post.

Not only is the suspect in the U.S. illegally, he’s a member of the violent MS-13 gang.

Ramiro Gutierrez allegedly killed a rival execution-style on a subway platform and the NYPD tried to shield the suspect by releasing false information to the press, The Post reported.

More from The Post:

Cops bent over backward Tuesday to shield alleged killer Ramiro Gutierrez from public scrutiny after his arrest for Sunday’s broad-daylight slaying in Queens — going so far as to feed reporters bogus information about his whereabouts and claim ignorance on his illegal status hours before President Trump’s State of the Union Address renewing his request for a border wall.

Gutierrez, 26, has been in custody since Monday for the execution-style killing of Abel Mosso, 20, in front of horrified straphangers.

Not only did police “sneak” the MS-13 gang member out a back door two hours earlier than what they told reporters, they waited until 4 a.m. Tuesday to announce Gutierrez had been formally charged.

He had been in custody since Monday for his role in the incident.

Gutierrez had nine previous arrests, including four felonies, and was out on $2,500 bail for felony conspiracy charges. He shot a rival gang member “multiple times in the face” after a scuffle over a gun, according to NYPD Chief of Detectives Dermot Shea.

The very epitome of the president’s case on border security.

The scuffle between gang members was caught on camera, as seen in a report from Pix11 News.

President Trump mentioned the crime, but didn’t say the suspect was an illegal alien — US Immigration Customs and Enforcement officials have confirmed with The Post that he is in the country illegally.

“The savage gang, MS-13, now operates in at least 20 different American states, and they almost all come through our Southern Border,” Trump said. “Just yesterday, an MS-13 gang member was taken into custody for a fatal shooting on a subway platform in New York City. We are removing these gang members by the thousands, but until we secure our border they’re going to keep streaming back in.”

Among the guests invited to attend the SOTU by the president and first lady Melania Trump included the daughter, granddaughter and great granddaughter of an elderly Reno, Nevada, couple killed by an illegal immigrant.

Democratic Mayor Bill de Blasio’s office dodged the egregious actions reportedly taken by the NYPD, as a spokesman said they “weren’t involved in the mechanics of the defendant’s transfer, and we don’t have any comment on it.”
