To say President Donald Trump has whipped Democrats — and their media allies — into a lather would be an understatement.
With the president set to speak to the nation tonight in his annual State of the Union address and the likelihood that illegal immigration will be a central topic, Democrats who’ve spent the past month obstructing any progress on enhancing border security are beside themselves in trying to answer back.
Not only will Democrats offer their official rebuttal, which will be delivered by failed 2018 Georgia gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams, a hard-left progressive buried in debt, the party will also provide a Spanish-language response from California Attorney General Xavier Becerra. U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., who caucuses with the Democratic Party, is doing his own reply too.
(Sanders, a white man who’s considering a run for the White House, came under fire from the left for trying to steal the thunder from Abrams, a black woman.)
And we’re still not done.
Looking to get out ahead of tonight’s message from the Democratic Party, which is struggling to maintain discipline with the aggressive, hard-left faction of the party, U.S. Sen. Kamala Harris, D-Calif., announced on social media that she will hold her own pre-buttal — BEFORE the State of the Union.
The unaccomplished senator has announced her run for president and she’s chasing the added exposure she hopes her stunt will deliver.
She tweeted: “NEWS: I’m delivering remarks tonight on Facebook Live ahead of the President’s State of the Union Address. It’s critical we speak truth to the American people during this inflection moment in our country’s history.”

Notice that without even hearing from the president, she has already dismissed what he will say as being untruthful.
The progressive left has a strange fascination with failed gubernatorial candidates and the same concern about Sanders raining on Abrams “moment” was applied to Harris.
Here’s a sampling of responses from Twitter:
Just wondering, where are all the Bernie Sanders haters on this? https://t.co/0RWuImkMka

Im a fan, Kamala.. but for the life of me I just don’t understand how after all the (correct) criticism Bernie received yesterday, You and your aides decided to do this. Annoying as hell. You got plenty of publicity.. let Abrams shine for 10 freakin minutes!

Um…. I don’t understand why you guys can’t let Stacey Abrams just respond and call it a night. I’m ready for the campaigns to be over and it’s only 2019. 😫😫 pic.twitter.com/3mfNyDaIFd

Can’t you let @staceyabrams have this night? Looks bad on you.

I’m a fan of you @SenKamalaHarris and am closely watching your campaign. Unfortunately I do not agree with giving your own remarks ahead of the SOTU. The Dems have chosen Stacey Abrams and I think you should step back and let her speak. Don’t over stay your welcome this early…

Of course, there’s the exposure to failed policies that interest few outside the left:
Not interested in their “look at me” moment

I don’t want to hear it, I listened to her speech when she announced and it sounds insane. If you want to live in a socialist country pack your bags and move.

🎵🎵… she’s not a saint, no she’s what you think, she’s an actress.
She’s better known for the things that she does on the mattress….🎵

Yes, every feminist like @KamalaHarris should strive to have an extramarital affair to advance their career, right Kamala? It worked for you. #CareerPerks. So use men to get ahead then come across as a misandrist. #WillieBrown👌 #Rolodex😉 #Misandrist…
Whatever it takes….

@KamalaHarris the misandrist, anti-Catholic bigot? There is now an app in San Fran to avoid streets w/ human feces. Keep advancing your political career all the while your district is filled w/ homeless, drugs & feces. But that’s the socialism policies you stand for. #Failure
