‘Annoying as hell’: Kamala Harris swoops in to steal the show with SOTU ‘prebuttal,’ slammed from all sides

Screengrab: Rep. Joseph P. Kennedy III delivers 2018 Democratic rebuttal to SOTU

To say President Donald Trump has whipped Democrats — and their media allies — into a lather would be an understatement.

With the president set to speak to the nation tonight in his annual State of the Union address and the likelihood that illegal immigration will be a central topic, Democrats who’ve spent the past month obstructing any progress on enhancing border security are beside themselves in trying to answer back.

Not only will Democrats offer their official rebuttal, which will be delivered by failed 2018 Georgia gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams, a hard-left progressive buried in debt, the party will also provide a Spanish-language response from California Attorney General Xavier Becerra. U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., who caucuses with the Democratic Party, is doing his own reply too.

(Sanders, a white man who’s considering a run for the White House, came under fire from the left for trying to steal the thunder from Abrams, a black woman.)

And we’re still not done.

Looking to get out ahead of tonight’s message from the Democratic Party, which is struggling to maintain discipline with the aggressive, hard-left faction of the party, U.S. Sen. Kamala Harris, D-Calif., announced on social media that she will hold her own pre-buttal — BEFORE the State of the Union.

The unaccomplished senator has announced her run for president and she’s chasing the added exposure she hopes her stunt will deliver.

She tweeted: “NEWS: I’m delivering remarks tonight on Facebook Live ahead of the President’s State of the Union Address. It’s critical we speak truth to the American people during this inflection moment in our country’s history.”

Notice that without even hearing from the president, she has already dismissed what he will say as being untruthful.

The progressive left has a strange fascination with failed gubernatorial candidates and the same concern about Sanders raining on Abrams “moment” was applied to Harris.

Here’s a sampling of responses from Twitter:

Of course, there’s the exposure to failed policies that interest few outside the left:
