No doubt, Donald Trump Jr. has inherited the same fighting spirit as his father, President Donald Trump.
Or, perhaps, he’s just tired of watching his family being targeted by the apparatus of government as controlled by Democrats and other anti-Trump forces.
Either way, Trump Jr. was quick to respond to reports Thursday that the Senate has obtained records showing his phone calls ahead of the Trump Tower meeting with a Russian lawyer were not with his father, but with business associates.
Much to the angst of Democrats like Rep. Adam Schiff, D-Calif., who so desperately wanted those calls to be with the president.
“Has anyone heard from Adam Schiff? I imagine he’s busy leaking other confidential info from the House Intelligence Committee to change the subject?!?” tweeted Trump Jr.
He added the hashtag:

But then, Trump Jr. is making it a habit to call out Schiff, as seen last week when he accused the lawmaker of leaking his 2017 testimony on the infamous Trump Tower meeting.
The response from the lawmaker was to essentially admit to the leaks, but spin it to call it something less slimy.

Schiff, now chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, said in a 2018 memo that because of the timing of the calls, “the committee must determine whether some of these calls may be between Trump Jr. and Donald J. Trump, including calls concerning the Trump Tower meeting.”
He raised the possibility that Trump Jr. may have been talking with his father while speaking to CNN in November.
“We wanted to get the phone records to determine, was Donald Trump talking to his son about this meeting,” Schiff told the network. “It’s an obvious investigative step, but one the Republicans were unwilling to take because they were afraid of where the evidence might lead.”
Trump Jr., who said he couldn’t remember who he was speaking with on the phone, told the Senate Judiciary Committee in September 2017 his father had no knowledge of the Trump Tower meeting and Schiff was chomping at the bit to hit the president’s eldest son with perjury charges — President Trump has also denied any knowledge of the meeting, so proving otherwise would have been a significant event.
Schiff appeared Thursday evening in the friendly confines of MSNBC’s “The Rachel Maddow Show” and was asked about the reporting of Trump Jr.’s phone calls.
In a thick-headed response, the Democratic lawmaker said, “The problem is that we’re not in a position to be able to confirm the reporting because the Republicans wouldn’t let us get the phone records.”
Exposing the Democrats’ dogged determined to get President Trump, Schiff moved the goalpost to include more than phone calls, saying that his committee will still investigate who the president’s son was talking to.
“It was such an obvious investigative step and is an obvious investigator step and one that we will take very early on now that we are underway and that is find out who Don Jr. was talking to about that meeting at Trump Tower,” Schiff said. “Those conversations could have taken place over the phone or they could have taken place by Don Jr. walking down the hall to talk to dad.”
President Trump also responded to the reports Thursday night, taking a shot at both the Democrats and their media allies.
“Just out: The big deal, very mysterious Don jr telephone calls, after the innocent Trump Tower meeting, that the media & Dems said were made to his father (me), were just conclusively found NOT to be made to me. They were made to friends & business associates of Don. Really sad!” he tweeted.
In a second tweet, referencing special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation, which has been going on for 1 year and 8 months, Trump said: “This Witch Hunt must end!”
