In an early morning tweet Saturday, President Donald Trump wondered aloud why corrupt members of the left were being allowed to get off scot-free with their glaring lies.
“If Roger Stone was indicted for lying to Congress, what about the lying done by Comey, Brennan, Clapper, Lisa Page & lover, Baker and soooo many others?” he wrote.
“What about Hillary to FBI and her 33,000 deleted Emails? What about Lisa & Peter’s deleted texts & Wiener’s laptop? Much more!”

The president posted the tweet a day after special counsel Robert Mueller indicted his former campaign adviser Roger Stone on seven counts, including obstruction, making false statements and witness tampering in regard to the investigation into alleged Russian collusion.
Like others in the past, the tweet hit a big fat nerve with angry former CIA director John Brennan:
Your cabal of unprincipled, unethical, dishonest, and sycophantic cronies is being methodically brought to justice. We all know where this trail leads. If your utter incompetence is not enough to run you out of office, your increasingly obvious political corruption surely will. https://t.co/S6DMeGICXZ

As noted by a number of prominent commentators and pundits, the charges against Stone all pertain to process crimes, i.e., those committed because of the failed investigation.
Stone was arrested on a process crime and not Russian collusion. https://t.co/np8WVQNh4v

Suppose your mom accuses you of stealing a cookie from the cookie jar. You never stole the cookie, and you know you never stole it because you’d been taking a nap when the act occurred.
But because you don’t want to admit to having been napping during the day, lest you be scolded for being lazy, you lie and claim you were outside walking the dog when the cookie was stolen.
Now imagine that your mom discovers proof that you were napping when the cookie was stolen and decides to ground you for that. Meanwhile, the cookie’s real thief remains uncaught.
That’s basically what happened to Stone, or at least in regard to the charges stemming from his lies. The fact is that neither Stone nor any other member of the president’s former campaign team has been indicted for a real crime such as colluding with Russian operatives to disrupt America’s elections. Like him, most of them have been indicted for merely allegedly making false statements.
In his tweet Saturday morning, the president wondered why, if making false statements counts as an indictable charge, so many left-wing liars remain unindicted and free, including disgraced former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, who lied to Congress, and disgraced former CIA Director John Brennan, who lied so much The Guardian named him “the most talented liar in Washington.”
Next to former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton, that is. During the FBI’s botched investigation into her illicit use of a personal email address on an unsecured private server to transmit State Department intelligence, she likely lied more often than she brushed her teeth.
Case in point:
Disgraced former FBI Director James Comey, whom Trump has long maintained is also an unrepentant liar, let Clinton off scot-free despite the dozens (if not hundreds) of lies she told.
What the president was driving at in his tweet was that there appears to be a two-tiered justice system in America: one for members or allies of the raging anti-Trump left, and the other for the president and his current and former campaign/administration officials.
Is he right? According to the American people, the answer appears to be yes.
Exit polls from the midterm elections last November found that a 45 percent plurality of Americans disapproved of Mueller’s investigation. A poll conducted last spring likewise found that a 53 percent majority of Americans believed the investigation was politically motivated.
A similar sentiment can be seen on social media:
Looks like Mueller is sending a message that when there isn’t any collusion & you have a #witchhunt, even an official who clearly wasn’t involved can be targeted with perfectly legal witness tampering. We have a two-tiered justice system & a #DeepState desperate to hold power.

A two-tiered system can not stand. If Stone is arrested then, yes! arrest all that you mention and so many others. Open the files and let us see the corruption!

It’s a two-tiered justice system every one of them ought to be locked up.
God bless mr. President!

We have criminals running our justice system. That’s why Mr. President. It’s a two-tiered system
— Drew Kosta (@DrewKosta) January 26, 2019
This two-tiered Justice system has to end! These police state tactics must end! Jeannie Rhea(a Clinton Foundation and Hillary Clinton lawyer) was in charge of prosecuting Roger Stone?! So many conflicts of interest, yet nobody does anything?! Patriots will rise up!
— Meredith champion (@ChampionMtager) January 26, 2019
When will the homes of Clinton, Clapper, Comey, Page, Strohk, etc. have their homes raided and be arrested? This police state, two-tiered Justice system will bring Civil War! Patriots will not put up with the destruction of our Constitutional Republic
