New information regarding the Native American man who was falsely portrayed by the media as a victim of alleged “teen bullies” over what transpired last weekend at the steps of the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C., suggests that the real bully and liar is in fact him.
Following the events of last Saturday afternoon, when he approached a group of Catholic teens while loudly banging his drum, Native American man Nathan Phillips reportedly tried to interrupt a mass at the largest Catholic church in the all of North America.
“While chanting and playing ceremonial drums, a group of Native American rights activists reportedly led by Nathan Phillips attempted Jan. 19 to enter Washington, D.C.’s Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception during a Saturday evening Mass,” the Catholic News Agency reported.
“The group of 20 demonstrators was stopped by shrine security as it tried to enter the church during its 5:15 pm Vigil Mass, according to a shrine security guard on duty during the Mass.”
“It was really upsetting,” a guard present during the altercation said to the news agency. “There were about twenty people trying to get in, we had to lock the doors and everything.
“We had hundreds and hundreds of people from all over the country come here to celebrate life, to celebrate each other together. That a protest tried to come inside during Mass was really the worst.”

“It’s a house of worship, a place of prayer where people come to celebrate. All this anger is so against what we are all about here,” the guard continued, adding that the protest interrupted what was the shrine’s “biggest event of the year.”
The video below reportedly shows Phillips’ allies reportedly waiting outside the shrine early Saturday evening for him to arrive and lead them into disrupting the mass:
One of Phillips’ allies can be heard saying that the Catholic Church must be held “accountable” for the “colonial violence that the Catholic Church reproduces every day.”
Their anger stems from what happened earlier Saturday. They and their allies among the radical far-left continue to falsely claim that a group of Covington Catholic High School students harassed Phillips, when in reality the evidence shows that the exact opposite occurred.
It seems fair to say that a man who would first harass a bunch of teens and then later try to interrupt a holy mass is a bully. It may also be fair to classify this man, Nathan Phillips, as a liar.
Why? Because according to the latest reports, he never served in the Vietnam War, despite repeated claims otherwise by The Washington Post and a number of other prominent outlets.
“Earlier versions of this story incorrectly said that Native American activist Nathan Phillips fought in the Vietnam War. Phillips said he served in the U.S. Marines but was never deployed to Vietnam,” the Post conceded in a retraction published Tuesday.
What remains unclear is whether Phillips himself ever told them that he was a Vietnam War veteran.
“In several interviews, he has referred to himself as a ‘Vietnam times veteran’ and said in an interview with Indian Country Today that he was called a ‘baby-killer.’ He also indicated that a woman — whom he described only as ‘a hippie’ — spat on him in one such encounter,” The Daily Caller reported.
What’s clear is that he never made any attempts to correct the media’s error. Instead, the mainstream media had to be cudgeled into honesty by their peers in conservative media.
Phillips also said nothing when filmmaker Maria Stanisheva launched a Kickstarter several years ago to raise money so she could produce a documentary about him and his wife.
“[H]e was then a Marine in Vietnam — and right after that he became an alcoholic for 20 years,” she says in a video she made for the Kickstarter campaign.
Listen:
It sounds like Phillips is a liar by omission. One who has been transformed into a martyr and hero by the radical left because he had the apparent courage to bully a group of teenagers.
Observe radical leftists worshiping their newfound hero below:

And FYI, their “hero” reportedly believes that racism is acceptable:
Hero Nathan Phillips: “The Black Israelites, they were saying some harsh things, but some of it was true, too.”
Black Israelites used the n-word, called Covington Catholic boys “f*ggots,” and told them to “go back to Europe.” https://t.co/9SNcqSXZea pic.twitter.com/W3YK1mGyz5
