Our politics are as polarizing as ever, so much so that it’s getting more and more dangerous to espouse political views in America — at least, it is if you’re a Trump supporter.
MAGA hats increasingly expose the wearer to remarkable risks in the so-called land of the free, as two teenagers found out when they were aggressively confronted by obscure rapper Cash Bently, the crime being that they were wearing Trump “Make America Great Again” hats.
Not only does Bently mock them for wearing the hats, he threatens them with physical violence — proud of his actions, he records himself in the act.
“Look at these ni**ers with the f**king hat on. Let me see your hat. Let me see your hat,” Bently is heard saying in the clip. “You and you is bitches. I like to knock the f*ck out right now. Look at your f**king hat man you is retarded.”
The butchered grammar may offer an alternative view on who may be intellectually challenged, but the fact that these are young kids cannot be downplayed.
(Not that Bently didn’t have the wherewithal to lock down his Twitter account after controversy over the incident emerged online.)
It could also be argued Bently’s actions are the end product of two cable networks all but dedicating 24/7 coverage to demonizing President Donald Trump, with most other major media outlets allowing extreme hatred of Trump to shape their coverage.
This resulting in low information Americans like Bently being whipped into a lather against not only the president, but those who support him.
Given that wearing a MAGA hat is so frequently a magnet for the media, the highly troubling incident involving the rapper drew almost no coverage.
Meanwhile, in Washington, D.C., a group of MAGA hat wearing high school students saw their actions go viral and be covered by almost every major media outlet in America. And a couple across the pond in the U.K.
The Catholic school students allegedly harassed a Native American veteran on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial and the outrage over how the elderly man was being treated took the internet by storm.
Never mind that as more information came to light, there appeared to be much more to the story than initially reported.

Not that some Trump supporters aren’t getting tired of being singled out and ridiculed for who they support — we can’t lose sight of the fact that Rep. Maxine Waters, D-Calif., now the chairwoman of the House Committee on Financial Services, called on supporters to do just that.
A Hooters customer wearing a MAGA hat publicly shamed his waitress after she dissed him for being a Trump supporter.
“That’s Shay. She’s the waitress for Hooters. Shay walked up to me, saw my hat and said, ‘Are you a Trump supporter?’ Whilst on her job,” the man announced to the entire restaurant.

Here’s a quick sampling of the reactions on Twitter to Bently’s assault on the teens:
Nice mouth. Shows what little class he has. Love the people justifying him on here because it’s against Trump.. just shows how hypocritical they are…

He threatened to hurt these children because of the clothing that says a lot about him

The problem isn’t the right or the left, it’s the divisive mentality that makes one think that their sense of self is derived from their comparison to others. The more you need to feel right, the more you need to see others as wrong.https://t.co/Elxp2VgiY1

This happened at the Tyson’s Corner mall in Virginia! We need to go find this guy and educate him.

If those kids started beating a drum and chanting would the left be outraged at the guy filming?
