The same left-wing-dominated mainstream media that routinely fall over themselves trying to downplay the dangers of radical Islamic terrorism felt no qualms last week about mocking and attacking Vice President Mike Pence and his wife over their apparently controversial Christian beliefs.
During a discussion, Saturday afternoon with known antisemite Al Sharpton about the grand compromise offered by President Donald Trump to end the government shutdown, guest Tiffany Cross of The Beat DC described Pence, a proud Christian, as a “Jesus whisperer.”
“Rev, let me first say that this deal was put together by secretary of all the things Jared Kushner, and by the Jesus whisperer, Vice President Mike Pence,” she derisively said.
“This is not a deal any Democrat was consulted on or had the opportunity to touch. This president has tried to connect the drug war with the immigration crisis and he failed. I want to remind the people that this is not a president who cares about the opioid crisis.”
Listen:
Cross’s crass remark reeked of the same anti-Christian bigotry expressed last year by “The View” co-host Joy Behar, who at the time mocked Pence for having metaphorically said God speaks to him.
“It’s one thing to talk to Jesus. It’s another thing when Jesus talks to you. That’s called mental illness, if I’m not correct, hearing voices,” she said in February of 2018.
Many people, including beloved left-wing celebrity Oprah Winfrey, have said that God speaks to them metaphorically, but none of them were ever mocked over their beliefs like Pence.
Because of the vice president’s involvement with the Trump administration, the left feels as if it’s perfectly OK to demean, disparage and mock his religious beliefs.
And part of the reason the left feels this way is because of the media’s previously tacit — but now clearly manifest — endorsement of anti-Christian bigotry and hatred.

The press is signaling its belief that anyone who chooses Christian orthodoxy should not be tolerated.

Did you ever….ever….think we would see this hate against
Christians and Jews in this country….and to be celebrated
by the media and of course the elites‼️— JOYCE V ??? (@JVER1) January 19, 2019
The lack of coverage by NBC, CBS, ABC & others of the Pro_Life March just proves how much media and its advertisers hate Christians in America. They have declared a outright war on our beliefs. Most commercials now are gay, mixed couples and people who sleep with animals, really?

Speaking of which, less than 24 hours before Cross described Pence as a “Jesus whisperer,” CNN chief national correspondent John King suggested that Pence’s wife, Karen, should be denied Secret Service protection and government-funded housing because of a new job she accepted at a Christian school.
“Does it matter that all taxpayers pay for her housing; all taxpayers pay for her Secret Service protection? It’s not her fault that she needs protection – this is the world we live in. But all taxpayers subsidize her life. Does it matter?” he asked a panel.
Watch:
The idea that the VP’s wife should lose her Secret Service protection just because of her religious beliefs is so insane that even King’s panel members looked at him in shock.
“So, you mean: Do her First Amendment freedoms get somehow curtailed because taxpayers pay for her accommodations and her security?” SiriusXM chief Washington correspondent Olivier Knox responded in astonishment. “I don’t know that a lot of people would sign onto that.”
The growing fervor against Karen displayed by King (and others) stems from her decision to accept a job at a Christian school where employees must pledge that they believe marriage is monogamous and heterosexual and vote to never engage in “homosexual or lesbian sexual activity” or adopt or promote “transgender identity,” in accordance with Christian doctrine.
Speaking last week about the growing anti-Christian bigotry against him and his wife, Pence rightly noted that freedom of religion is enshrined in the U.S. Constitution.
“My wife and I have been in the public eye for quite a while but I have to tell you, to see major news organizations attacking Christian education is deeply offensive,” he said to EWTN.
“We have a rich tradition in America of Christian education and, frankly, religious education broadly defined. We celebrate it. The freedom of religion is enshrined in the Constitution of the United States.”
Listen:
Given that leftists don’t believe in the U.S. Constitution, it admittedly isn’t that surprising that they apparently don’t believe in the freedom of religion either.
