No one can stop watching footage of bus that held ‘furious’ Dems circle round as they got news they’d been grounded

Sure, it’s petty, but it may be the only thing rational Americans have in the senseless stalemate over securing our southern border, where Democrats are more determined to prevent President Donald Trump from fulfilling a campaign promise than they are protecting American citizens.

Trump rocked the political world Thursday in a game of one-upmanship with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi when he responded to the California liberal’s letter suggesting he delay his State of the Union address because of the government shutdown with a letter of his own informing Pelosi her planned “excursion” to Brussels, Egypt, and Afghanistan was being “postponed” for the same reason.

Pelosi and a group of Democrats were slated to take a military flight overseas and as commander in chief, Trump has control over all military operations. That he opted to inform them of his decision at the very last minute turned out to be… well, comedy gold.

At least for us petty-minded Americans.

(For what it’s worth, President Trump told Pelosi she could fly commercial on her own dime.)

The Democrats were already on a bus to take them to the airfield as the cancellation was announced and their trip was reduced to little more than circling a block to end up back on the steps of the Capital.

Fox News reporter Chad Pergram reported “furious calls” were going back and forth between D.C. officials has Democrats waited on the bus to learn if they’d be leaving for their trip.

This proved to be more than social media could bear.

Of all the images and videos shared online, the most priceless may be of Rep. Adam Schiff, D-Calif., a fierce critic of Trump’s, getting off the bus. The suggestion was that he appeared to be a bit miffed.

Even Republican lawmakers got in on the embarrassing turn of events, as seen when Wisconsin Republican Rep. Sean Duffy tweeted, “Democrats: Get off the bus and help us secure the border!”

House Majority Leader Steny Hoye, D-Md., was not too please — we can only assume that Pelosi was fuming so bad she couldn’t speak.

“It’s petty. It’s small, it’s vindictive,” Hoyer bemoaned.

While it may very well be all that, the cancellation was in response to Pelosi’s petty, small, vindictive decision to postpone the State of the Union address.

It was also hilarious.

Here’s a sampling of other posts and responses to the outcome of Speaker Pelosi trying to play games with the president.
