‘Flip-flopping joke’: Kirsten Gillibrand reverses course, again. Now supports driver’s licenses for illegal immigrants

New York congresswoman and 2020 presidential candidate Kirsten Gillibrand revealed in an interview this week that she supports granting drivers’ licenses to criminal aliens.

“I think we have to make it possible for people to provide for their families,” she told the New York Daily News outside a Brunswick diner Wednesday. “We need comprehensive immigration reform. Without doing that, you’re not going to get the problem solved for the rest of the country.”

Besides being another example of a mainstream Democrat politician pushing further to the radical “progressive” left, Gillibrand’s remarks also denote a a 180-degree reversal from the position she staked out during her tenure as a New York state representative between 2007 and 2009.

“I do not support giving driver’s licenses to illegal immigrants,” she said in a statement 12 years ago in response after then-New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer reportedly filed a then-controversial executive order that granted criminal aliens the right to obtain drivers’ licenses.

Prior to the presidency of Barack Hussein Obama, who often acted as if criminal aliens have a right to illegally immigrate to the United States, most of the Democrat Party stood against illegal immigration and, interestingly enough, in favor of tough border security.

The views of the entire party have since changed. In the case of Gillibrand, her current/past policy prescriptions for nearly every issue — gun control, “sanctuary cities,” etc. — differ like night and day.

Some of this change likely stems from her recent decision to seek the presidency, which means she must win the Democrat primary. And to win the primary, she must demonstrate she’s “woke.”

Whereas she used to be a staunch defender of the Second Amendment, she now vehemently supports every single gun control scheme that’s been pushed by America’s anti-gun zealots, as demonstrated by what she said last year that Democrats should do if they retook Congress in November.

“I think we should pass the gun reform issues within the first month — all of them: Universal background checks, anti-trafficking, making sure people can’t buy bump stocks, large magazine clips, all that work,” she last July at the New York City festival OZY Fest.

During that same event she also spoke of abolishing U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

Listen:

To this days she continues to flip-flop about everything.

HERE’S WHAT YOU’RE MISSING …

Case in point: During her 2018 reelection campaign, she vowed to serve a full 6-year term in Congress if she won. Yet just this past Tuesday she declared her candidacy for presidency. If by chance she wins the 2020 presidential election, she’ll have to renege on her vow.

When called out during her 2020 announcement presser Tuesday about these flip-flops, she struggled to reply, saying only that her constituents should look at her heart.

Listen:

While some people — all of them Democrats — obviously buy into Gillibrand’s rhetoric, many certainly don’t, especially in light of her latest flip-flop Wednesday.

Look:

Instead of staking out any real positions on the issues, Gillibrand seems to always base her policy prescriptions on the political flavor of the month.
