Justice Ginsburg’s ‘dissent’ collar made famous by ‘Notorious RBG’ sells out immediately

Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, who continues to recovers from early-stage lung cancer, is a living legend among liberals, which explains why a limited-edition release of Ginsburg’s iconic “dissent” necklace immediately sold out.

“Fierce female,” emptied Banana Republic’s online shelves before the necklace went on sale, according to Fox News.

Ginsburg, aka “Notorious RBG,” a play on deceased rapper Notorious B.I.G. designed to give the 85-year-old liberal justice pop culture bona fides, made the black, bib-like collar necklace featured by Banana Republic popular in 2012.

(She posed for a Supreme Court portrait in December wearing a signature necklace worn by Kim Kardashian and her sister Kourtney for this same reason.)

Ginsburg reportedly received the necklace, now known as the dissent collar, in a gift bag at Glamour’s Woman of the Year event in 2012, and she told Katie Couric it was a collar “fitting for dissents.”

She famously wore the dissent necklace the day following President Donald Trump’s inauguration, giving the left cause to speculate.

Fittingly, Banana Republic announced on Instagram that they planned to “proudly” donate 50 percent of the $98 purchase price to the ACLU’s Women’s Rights Project, which Ginsburg co-founded in 1972.

The retailer said one day later that they “are working quickly to create additional quantities.”

“In just a few hours, we pre-sold all units of the necklace that were made in limited edition for January delivery. Given the overwhelming response, we are working quickly to create additional quantities,” the caption on Banana Republic’s Instagram account read.
