House Minority Leader vows to take action against Steve King over ‘white supremacy’ comment

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy vowed Sunday to take certain action against Rep. Steve King over allegedly racist remarks the Iowa congressman made last week.

“That language has no place in America. That is not the America I know, and it’s most definitely not the party of Lincoln,” he angrily asserted during an appearance on CBS’s “Face the Nation.”

“Action will be taken. I’m having a serious conversation with Congressman Steve King about his future and role in this Republican Party. I will not stand back as a leader of this party, believing in this nation, that all are created equal, that that stands or continues to stand and have any role with us.”

Listen:

The ongoing controversy surrounding King stems from remarks he made during an interview with The New York Times last Thursday: “White nationalist, white supremacist, Western civilization — how did that language become offensive?” he reportedly said to the left-wing outlet.

During a speech delivered on the House floor Friday, the 16-year congressional veteran pushed back against what the Times implied, claiming that his words had been taken out of context.

He explained that he had been speaking with the Times about how the left has developed a habit of using loaded terms such as “white supremacist, “white nationalist” and “Nazi” to demean, disparage, discredit and ultimately silence anyone with an opposing political viewpoint.

“That’s the foundation for that discussion … and in that also was discussion of other terms that had been used almost always unjustly labeling otherwise innocent people,” King continued.

That’s true. Even Candace Owens, a black political commentator, has been smeared as a “white supremacist” because of her political views, which like King’s views lean heavily to the right.

“The word racist, the word Nazi, the word fascist, the phrase white nationalist, the phrase white supremacist — they even are derogatory towards Western civilization, which is the foundation for the American civilization,” King added, arguing that the left uses these terms to even smear history.

Again he was correct. As noted by renowned conservative commentator Dennis Prager two years ago, “The Left sees everything in terms of race and equates Western civilization with whiteness.”

Part two:

Based on McCarthy’s antagonistic statement Sunday, it’s unclear if he’s heard or even acknowledged King’s side of the story. It’s also unclear why he wouldn’t since the leftist media do have a habit of twisting the words and actions of Republicans to score sometimes near-fatal political points.

It’s also unclear what the House minority leader seeks to gain by buying into the left-wing media’s narrative about King, given as his attempt to acquiesce to their anger over the Iowa congressman’s alleged racism hasn’t won him any fans on social media.

Look:

In response to the latter tweet, there are in actuality 1,001+ examples of Democrat politicians and Democrat media advocates spewing patently racist drivel.
