An editor at a Fox affiliate in Seattle has been fired after the station determined that a video of President Trump’s Oval Office address had been tampered with.

Fox affiliate Q13 (KCPQ-TV) terminated the employment of an editor after an internal investigation revealed that  during an introduction to their 10 p.m. news show, a clip of Trump giving his speech on Tuesday was doctored, according to KTTH and MyNorthwest.

Seattle talk radio host Todd Herman with KTTH-AM 770 was alerted by a viewer to the video which the station then used to make a side-by-side comparison with Trump’s actual address.

“We performed a side-by-side comparison of the video from our listener, apparently taken by a smart phone recording of Q13, to the raw video of Trump’s speech from CNN,” Herman wrote Thursday.

The video was altered to give the president an orange tone to his skin and his mouth was distorted as he spoke, at one point creating a loop where he was seen repeatedly licking his lips “making it seem bizarre and unbalanced.”

The responsible Q13 editor was placed on leave while the station investigated.

“This does not meet our editorial standards and we regret if it is seen as portraying the President in a negative light. The editor responsible for editing the footage is being placed on leave while we investigate further,” Q13’s news director Erica Hill said Wednesday, The Seattle Times reported.

Less than one day later, the editor was fired.

“We’ve completed our investigation into this incident and determined that the actions were the result of an individual editor whose employment has been terminated,” Hill said Thursday.
