Given all that is known about the Nation of Islam and its highly controversial leader Louis Farrakhan, it’s astonishing to realize that the Black Muslim sect has received hundreds of thousands of dollars from the federal government.
Fortunately, Rep. Vern Buchanan, R-Fla., is now calling on the Department of Justice to immediately halt the funding and prohibit the group from receiving future money.
“As you may know, the Anti-Defamation League and the Southern Poverty Law Center have designated the Nation of Islam as a hate group for its racist and anti-Semitic beliefs,” the lawmaker said in a letter to acting Attorney General Matthew Whitaker. “Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan has used hateful rhetoric pronouncing that ‘Hitler was a very great man’ and routinely denounces Jews and white people as ‘evil.’”
The Washington Examiner reported last month “the Nation of Islam and its leaders have received hundreds of thousands of dollars from the US government since 2008 to teach religious study programs for federal prison inmates.”
Records show the U.S. Bureau of Prisons and the Department of Justice awarded the black nationalist group at least $364,500 between fiscal 2008 and fiscal 2019.
The newspaper also reminded readers that Farrakhan preaches that white people are “blue-eyed devils” and Jews are “the synagogue of Satan.”
All of which explain why Obama’s media allies went to great lengths to suppress the photo of the two men while Obama was running for president.
More recently, Farrakhan was just in Tehran leading chants of “Death to America! Death to Israel!”

“The fact that hard-earned American tax dollars are being funneled to this extremist group is not only unacceptable, it’s downright immoral,” Buchanan said in his letter.
“The federal government should not use taxpayer dollars to subsidize one of the most infamous hate groups in the United States,” he added. “That’s why I’m demanding your department immediately cease all contracts with the Nation of Islam and prohibit it from receiving any contracts in the future.”
