Outspoken conservative actor James Woods had a few words of warning to those on the right who are quick to ridicule Rep.-elect Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y.
While the self-avowed democratic socialist is making a name for herself for her many blunders, Woods saw fit to remind her detractors that Ocasio-Cortez still managed to get elected, while an impotent GOP struggles to accomplish much of anything, to include getting a wall built along the southern border.
“Make fun of her all you want, but she managed to get elected,” Woods said in response to a recent tweet from Ocasio-Cortez. “The Republicans controlled Congress, the Presidency, and the Supreme Court, but couldn’t build the wall. Who’s more powerful? Wake up, folks. Wake up.”

It’s worth noting that Ocasio-Cortez defeated a powerful incumbent in the primary. Rep. Joe Crowley was the 4th ranked member of the Democratic Party and was seen by some as a possible successor to Nancy Pelosi as the party’s leader in the House.
The appeal of candidates like Ocasio-Cortez, a Bernie Sanders disciple, shows how far left the party has shifted and represents a new confrontational mentality among these new-school Democrats — coming at a time when the Republican Party, outside of President Trump, seems to have lost its stomach for the fight.
Woods’ “wake up” call came in response to Ocasio-Cortez tweeting an image of the nameplate hanging outside her office on Capitol Hill, under the guise of reassuring followers she’s still a ranking member of the working class proletariat.
Of course, that’s a real stretch given her upbringing, and social media users were quick to point this out.

But amid the ridicule, as entertaining as it may be, the progress being made in America by Marxist-inspired democratic socialists continues to fly under the radar.
Here’s a sampling of responses that supports the premise that these strides are being made with little recognition:
It seems that most New Yorkers live in their own bubble of leftist extremism. I don’t pay them too much mind.

She did get elected, but it was a democratic district anyway. Not much we can do about it-

Meet the new boss. Same as the old boss. We all got fooled again.

Not that some aren’t willing to place the blame squarely on the shoulders of the Republican Party:
Also, with so many RINOs in there (Ryan, McCain, et al) Mr Trump didn’t have a chance.

There is no real party for conservatives anymore. The two parties are Democrats=Liberals and Republicans=less liberal RINO’S. We do need to wake up, there is no two party system anymore, there is one and they pretend to disagree. Trump is only thing standing between US and Europe

Absolutely, but the Republican establishment, that would be House and Senate leadership, RNC don’t ever listen to true Conservative Republicans. There to busy going along to get along.

Here’s a sampling of other responses to Woods’ warning not to underestimate the left, the scattered thought seen below reinforcing his cause for concern:
No question she knows how to market herself…so far. Let’s see how she does when she has to do the work.

The wall remains a priority..however shouldn’t we also remove all santuary status and allow ICE and local law enforcement to process illegals as such..Allowing folks like her to be elected make it more difficult for the President to do his job. Wake up indeed..!!

The trend is very clear. People are sick and tired of the do-nothings on both sides. We will see more of this in the elections ahead
— Victor Alvarez (@TQMKA) December 31, 2018
Correct…..especially with younger people…but it’s her love of material things that will eventually bring her down.

@AOC won because @repjoecrowley tried phoning it in and didn’t campaign much.
— Gun Politics in NY (@gunpoliticsny) December 31, 2018
I agree 100%. Ms. Ocasio and others like her should not be underestimated. She was clear on what she stands for and got elected on that platform. I’m sure there are others who took notes.

What Mr Woods is saying is, “wake up Republicans!” Time to deliver on your promises. I don’t agree with many of what AOC is saying but she has heart & energy to fight for her constituents. R’s time to band together and work for 2020. Go!

Unfortunately they did not have 60 votes they needed and a few RINOS. Leader wouldn’t go nuclear. GOP not cutthroat enough.
— Mike b (@MikeBuckingm) December 31, 2018
I’m impressed she managed to take out an out of touch liberal in a primary but that district was never not a safe place for a liberal. She won the seat when she won the primary.
