Senator Elizabeth Warren blasted Fox News as an “echo chamber of fear and hatred” in a new video slamming President Donald Trump and his media supporters.
The Massachusetts Democrat announced in the new video released Monday that she is forming an exploratory committee for a possible 2020 election bid.
After a short recap of her journey from law professor to senator, Warren turns the biographical focus to the issues she has championed and will likely define her 2020 presidential run.
“Corruption is poisoning our democracy,” Warren said in the video over images of Republican leaders. “Politicians look the other way while big insurance companies deny patients life-saving coverage, while big banks rip off consumers and while big oil companies destroy this planet.”
The former Harvard professor and vocal critic of the president unleashed a scathing rebuke of those who have taken the country down a “dark path,” speaking as images of Fox News stars Sean Hannity, Tucker Carlson, Laura Ingraham flash across the screen along with clips of White House counselor Kellyanne Conway, former Trump adviser Steve Bannon and current Trump adviser Stephen Miller.
“The whole scam is propped up by an echo chamber of fear and hatred,” she continued, with clearly no self-awareness. “Designed to distract and divide us with people who will do or say anything to hang on to power, point the finger at anyone who looks, thinks, prays, loves differently than they do.”
“This dark path doesn’t have to be our future,” claimed the senator nicknamed “Pocahontas” by Trump for her claims of Native American ancestry. Though she has not yet made a formal announcement on a 2020 presidential run, Warren promised to announce her decision “early in the new year.”
I’ll announce a decision early in the new year, but here’s one thing I know: I can’t do this alone. This has always been a grassroots campaign, powered by 1.8m grassroots donations all across the country. This isn’t my fight, it’s our fight. Join us now: https://t.co/BNl2I1m8OX

Warren’s obvious jab at Trump in the video without ever mentioning his name, while painting Fox News as practically a tool of hell, earned her scathing rebukes on social media.
The Media Research Center blog, Newsbusters, called out CNN’s Brian Stelter for his hot take.
Notice Elizabeth Warren never says Trump’s name… but uses Fox as a stand-in… she decries “an echo chamber of fear and hatred” while Hannity, Carlson and Ingraham appear. Plus clips of Conway, Bannon, Miller. https://t.co/mlAO5KdoOF

Yo, B-Stelt, funny how mocking the media as a political strategy to please your base is fine, if the base are liberal and the media is Fox, eh?
— NewsBusters (@newsbusters) December 31, 2018
Warren was criticized for the attack on Twitter where her potential candidacy was also mocked.
1/1024th chance of winning … but gohead… bring it on

Jeez, you are obsessed with Fox News. Why don’t you talk about people like Chris Wallace, Bret Baier who still do their jobs properly at Fox? MSNBC is equally worse with their ‘Everyday is an apocalypse, constitutional crisis’. Why dont you question them? #bias

Much like CNN and MSNBC are echo chambers for liberals, Democrats, and leftists. What’s your point?

she had one opportunity to take the high road and failed – operative word: failed

So she’s attacking a news outlet?
Man, you’re right. Journalists ARE under assault and should be protected.
Thanks for shining a light on this issue, mr. stelter.

Attacking the free press is only ok when liberals do it. What a deranged group.

And the hall monitors of course called her out for this language which is a direct threat to press freedoms all around the world and undermines the first amendment norms of which are the very foundations of our constitutional republic. https://t.co/1iMjJyyt8X

But it’s ok for the fear hatred and outright maligning of our GREAT President! Go pound salt trying to black ball Fox! CNN/MSNBC & all the other fake news stations are all about propaganda! This isn’t North Korea or China, its God fearing, gun carrying patriotic America! Deal!
