Last week the Office of Personnel Management accidentally suggested on social media that federal employees affected by the government shutdown should offer to perform painting, carpentry work and other tasks for their landlord in exchange for an extension on their mortgage/rent deadlines.
The office had meant to tweet sample letters that furloughed federal workers could use to negotiate with their landlords and creditors. While that’s what they in fact did, the problem is they accidentally linked Twitter users to older documents from a previous administration.
And it just so happened that these older documents included some dubious stuff.
“I would like to discuss with you the possibility of trading my services to perform maintenance (e.g. painting, carpentry work) in exchange for partial rent payments,” one document, a sample letter to a renter, reportedly read, much to the anger and outrage of leftists.
Look below to see blue check mark liberals responding to these letters:
Look:
Apparently one essential function of the federal government in a #shutdown is sending all the furloughed federal workers sage advice like “try getting your landlord to accept your carpentry services in lieu of rent.”
Just, wow…
This is a real form letter from @USOPM: pic.twitter.com/ZCf0qkMgCU

Oh, right. The “personal attorney” that everyone has and can afford … especially during a furlough. ??

It’s disgusting that @gop controlled Congress, White House and @USOPM think fed workers begging landlords to let them paint and unclog toilets in lieu of rent is going to work. These are the idiots running our government into the ground.

“Hey Federal employees we’re screwing, can’t pay your rent, gas or electric bills? Can’t buy your kids food? How about offering your creditors to mow lawns or wash their car?
If that doesn’t work, consult the attorney that you also can not afford.”@USOPM #TrumpShutdown https://t.co/zfT9hdTCsa

Un freaking believable – but sadly true:@USOPM suggests that furloughed govt employees in #TrumpShutdown use these sample letters to offer barter to landlords and other creditors during the #TrumpShutdown. https://t.co/bZR2agGIY4

What’s actually “sadly true” is that these letters exist because of the administration of former President Barack Hussein Obama, i.e., the man these Democrats presumably worship as a king.
And the evidence of this doesn’t come from some “right-wing nut job site” but rather from The Washington Post, a left-wing outlet revered by radical far-leftists all across America.
According to the Post, OPM released a statement Saturday that noted that the letters that the agency accidentally shared were from the 2013 Obama-era shutdown.
“OPM – itself acting with limited resources during the furlough period – inadvertently posted a legacy document from the 2013 shutdown,” an agency spokesperson said.
“Since discovering the out-of-date documents, OPM updated the website to reflect current information, and regrets any unintended concern caused by legacy documentation.”
But there’s more. The Post dutifully found evidence to back up this claim: “The Internet Archive’s ‘Wayback Machine’ shows OPM has offered similar advice for furloughed workers in the past, such as in 2015 when Barack Obama was president, as some pointed out.”
I love to dunk on Trump, but OPM put out those furloughed worker tips during the Obama administration, too.

In other words, every blue check mark Democrat who ripped into OPM and of course President Donald Trump for the agency’s letters has a lot of crow to eat.
So do all these other non-blue check mark liberal Democrats:
Unbelievable insulting and disgusting

So those “Feds” that can’t pay their mortgage (you just assume they are all tenants), auto loan, car insurance and utilities, should offer their services to those institutions in exchange for payment? This is the most disgusting tweet I have read, ever, and that is saying a lot.

The fact that this is even an issue is disgusting. @realDonaldTrump needs to grow up at stop having a tantrum over this.

This is the most shameful atrocity by the dumpster!

Beyond disgusting. And yet, who will legally get this lunatic out before even more damage is done? Why is it taking so long? How much longer?
— bestmuse18 (@bestmuse18) December 29, 2018
What do you suppose are the chances these same liberal Democrats reacted similarly when the actual “lunatic” whose administration wrote these letters shared them in 2013 and 2015?
If you guessed zero, you’re probably right.
